Monster Hunter World Nintendo Switch Port Would Be "Difficult" According to Capcom

Capcom President and Chief Operating Officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto explains that porting Monster Hunter World to Switch would be problematic, and talks about Capcom's intention to catch up to the west in terms of technology while retaining the goal to make interesting games that other companies don't make.

No way anyone who played MHW could ever go back to handheld MH.

The game is great, but if we're being honest, the frame rate is the one thing that could stand to be improved. If it struggles to keep 30 at times on ps4, there's no way it's happening on Switch.

fr0sty3023d ago

If what I remember reading back in the PS3 launch era is correct, in Japan, someone saying "it is very difficult" is a polite way of them saying "no way, it isn't going to happen". So, Switch fans, I wouldn't get any hopes up.

Capcom can keep monster Hunter I next lined the swords and I sing see what the big deal is about any of the games, capcom id's always making excuses

joab7773023d ago

Doesn't have to look as good. I'll take 720 on a small screen. And the Pro seems to run it fine...Minor hiccups.

It would be epic to have as a true mobile game though. Omg!

That's why Sony needs this! They have so many great mobile games and adding an Android OS and shop to a new mobile device would give us everything we need in one spot!

Some people have lives outside of their homes and prefer to play games in their house on a big screen

The regular PS4 (Non-Pro) has hiccups but its nothing serious at all.

The only thing is when you see flying creatures off in the distance, their wings become jerky and look like they are skipping frames. But those are only on flyers that are very far away and have no effect on anything even remotely close to your character, so it really isn't a big deal at all.

You will certainly notice the framerate speed up during fights and then dip down a little, but again, its nothing serious at all.

Just bring xx, stop being lazy and making excuses for why it shouldn't be localized lol

_-EDMIX-_3023d ago

I literally think Capcom is purposely just waiting for Nintendo to offer to pay for a localization.

Capcom has a very very very long history of approaching first-party Publishers to offer assistance for lots of their development.

I mean look at the switch sales!! Portables in Japan move massive of units so I see no reason for them not to have monster Hunter xx localized.

I think they're holding out for a Nintendo to pay.

Antnee5343023d ago (Edited 3023d ago )

Maybe not maybe capcon does not want to localize it till the big sales of world slows down that way they can build the hype train for switch with xx at a later time?

_-EDMIX-_3023d ago (Edited 3023d ago )

@ant-except the games actually lose sales overtime traditionally I don't really see any Financial benefit for Capcom to sit on a game that already exist in Japan and just wait.

I literally think they're just doing this because they think Nintendo is going to pay for the localization, its not really uncommon and Nintendo has done that for many developers in Japan.
I seriously seriously seriously do not believe this is some sort of ultimate strategy by Capcom I believe they're holding out for some specific date because they probably want Nintendo to just pay for the localization, I mean you have to consider this same publisher has had Nintendo Sony and Microsoft paying for something for either publishing development marketing distribution localization what have you.

I mean I understand that this company has fallen on hard times but I don't think people should ignore that they've done this to Publishers before.

I mean I like this company but I don't think I could ignore their Shady Behavior lol

Ultimately I actually think you're going to see Capcom publish it themselves simply because I don't think Nintendo feels it's even necessary to spend the money to localize Monster Hunter because they're already moving record units of the switch without it in the West. Its biggest Market in Japan already has it so the way I see it is Nintendo's probably correct to not waste the money on something that's already selling for them in Japan.

But in the event that Nintendo does end up localizing it then clearly Capcom had a plan lol 😂😂😂

He's been in most, if not all the games and is iconic to the series. I guess he can be considered the unofficial mascot but every game has its own unique monster as the poster boy.

Because you had fun. I started Monster Hunter with my son on PSP 17 years ago. We put a ton of hours into the games since then. Never did I look back at any game I’ve sunk a lot of hours into and think, I might regret having all that fun.
