Get over it. MS will have BR in the next XBox. They will only announce it a month before the launch. They are not going to loose face this gen by adding a BR and concede that Sony was right. The XB360 sales is good enough as it is. Why add a BR and create the possible FUD opening for competitors to hint at some content will be on BR and not playable on the previous XB360 models. Even though it will not happen - the market seems to like being confused by such hints.

Blu-Ray is just starting. DVD started like back in 96 and its lasted this long. Blu-Ray will REALLY hit its stride when more than 50% of middle-class households have a HD-TV.
I seriously do think MS should consider an add-on - Imagine if you bought a 360 and want to play HD movies; you buy a new BR player or buy a cheaper add-on?
Logically it makes sense.

MS repeatedly say that they believe in digital distribution. They say that but their actions dont follow suit. No consensus harddrive for all 360 models, and if you WANT extra space, you have to buy hard drives at way above the market price, i.e. MS's own brand. If MS truly believes in digital distribution, they should open up to hard drives of the consumers choice... either that or lower the price on their own.
Chop chop to it MS, you really are looking like a dinosaur.

LOL I love how there's those "Who needs Blu-Ray?" "Who Cares about Blu-Ray?" and "XBOX Experience doesn't need Blu-Ray" articles are completely contradicted by this article.

Anything else, its fine the way it is - we dealt with multiple discs on the playstation one, why would it all of a suddenly become a problem? I mean us ps3 owners have to deal with installs which takes alot longer than swapping a disc.

I personally think microsoft should of included a HD-DVD drive into the console and used that for games, that way even after it died it would only do good for microsoft as the production costs would be really cheap, i'd imagine so anyway.

Though like i said, till developers make out that storage space is a real problem then the 360 is fine the way it is.

Oh and before you ps3fanboys start disagreeing with me, then i'd like to let you know i consider myself a playstation fanboy, just not the type that will constantly make digs at the competion, the type that is just loyal to the playstation brand.

This guy speaks as if the majority of 360 owners are asking for Blu-Ray, when infact those are the minority. With that fact alone makes me call into question the writers intent.

It's clear xbox 360 owners are desperate for a Hi-definition video format.

The solution to their problem is purchasing a playstation 3.

EVERYone knows that to run a vibrant and competative business, you shouldn't give customers what they THINK they want. You should give them something they DON'T YET KNOW that they want. So, it's BS to say "Durr! Xbox owners don't want Blu Ray!" The reality is that they don't want it YET, and I'd wager that many of them "don't want Blu Ray" because -- just like Microsoft -- they don't want to admit that the PS3 did something right.

Oh, but wait. We're talking about Microsoft here. They don't come up with new ideas. They simply throw money at their competitor's ideas and call them their own. How silly of me.

I swear some articles and users of this site act like you can't have both systems. People who only have an Xbox and don't want blu-ray is just a round about way of saying they can't afford blu-ray. Why would anyone who is financially capable not want to watch movies in crystal clear 1080P video and uncompressed sound.

These nay sayers probably have there Xbox hooked to a standard def TV as well. Wow, I could have Jessica Alba or Molly Ringwald, But I don't need Jessica so I will go with Molly.

For games, the 360 cannot use BluRay, as it would split the user base. So no, that will not happen with the 360.

For choice... you know, that constant argument that Xbox fanboys love to toss around, I don't see why people WOULDN'T want the OPTION of purchasing an Xbox 360 BluRay attachment. Especially since the 360 is touted as a multimedia device/hub just as the PS3 is.

I also still don't understand why people HATE on a storage format. It's just silly.
