In their latest gameplay preview, GalaxyTrail takes time to show-off what they’ve managed to to with Freedom Planet 2 so far. Put simply, the game is shaping up nicely. Where the original Freedom Planet used the classic Sonic games as a base and built up from there, Freedom Planet 2 does what every good sequel should do and ups the ante even more.

Review - Freedom Planet 2 evokes so much of what makes a great platformer, but feels a little bloated in parts.

One of the best sequels out there, period.

WTMG's Oliver Shellding: "When it all comes together – the wonderfully scored soundtrack, the intuitive level design, the beautifully rendered characters – there’s more joy in Freedom Planet 2 than not, and I have to believe fans of the original will pick this up without a second thought. For those of you coming in fresh, don’t expect Sonic, because that’s a different franchise. Brace for an actual storyline, balanced combat and exploration, and some positively charged adventure that keeps you locked in. After a bit of time in the shadows, Lilac, Carol, Milla and now Neera Li step into the spotlight all on their own, and it’s a banger title to carry around on the Switch or play on the big screen. "
The first one was a welcome surprise - felt like a mix between Sonic and Rocket Knight Adventures. Looking forward to the sequel.
Are the devs going to finish adding characters to the first one
It seems really strange how the Torque & Spade campaigns for Freedom Planet won’t be finished until after Freedom Planet 2 releases.
That’s really unconventional way of handling DLC for a title.
