"But for those of us that have been there and done that with the first XC, the experience isn’t so fresh. To borrow a phrase from a friend, “XC2 is chasing a ghost.” That ghost is the experience of the first Xenoblade Chronicles, with its mystifying setting on the back of gods and theological currents of thought underlying every plot twist. The shonen storyline is here again. The grassy plains, the snowy tundra, the massive lakes – these are all here, too.
XCX didn’t chase that ghost. It accepted itself for what it was: a post-Earth space opera in which the survival of humankind was the only thing that mattered. Because of this, I accepted it more easily, too."
Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch 2 adds 60fps gameplay and up to 4K resolution through a $4.99 upgrade pack now available digitally.
Playing it right now! It is awesome! Good thing I held myself back from buying this last year. Now I can't wait for XC2 and XC3 to have the same enhancements and upgrade.
Honestly, it’s kind of bizarre how rough native Switch players had it with this game for years. Aside from the original Wii U release, Xenoblade has pretty much been a series that felt better on emulators than on the actual hardware, mainly because of the blurry image quality and unstable frame rates.
It’s good to finally see an official version of the game that doesn’t look terrible and apparently is stable.
This is exactly why hardware matters to a decent extent.
It effectively took a 900p@30fps, maxed it to 1080p, then used DLSS to upscale it 4x in resolution to render at 4K, while also doubling frame rate.

Nintendo has put eight different Switch games on sale, including Super Mario RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Zelda: Link's Awakening, and more.

NE: "Today, we're taking on the difficult task of ranking every single game in the Xenoblade Chronicles series from best to least best."
For me, Xenoblade 2 and 3 and Final Fantasy 7 remake and rebirth are the best JRPGs or RPGs in general ever made. Yes, they even surpassed Expedition 33 in my honest opinion. Before, the Tales series was among my favorites, but I was very disappointed with their last game, Tales of Arise. Its world has become linear and not as expansive as their previous games. Fortunately, its battle gameplay is still very good. I hope that in the next Tales game, they will expand the game even more.
Hoping for a new Xenoblade game from Monolith Soft in this year's Nintendo General Direct. And it should be a Switch 2 exclusive.
The "worst" Xenoblade game is still better than 95% of games out there. Xenoblade 2 is my favorite rpg ever. All the Xenoblade games have incredible characters, soundtracks, voice acting, stories, world design and combat (save for Xenoblade 1 whose combat, while good, is not incredible).
Well of course something titled Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would closer try to closer emulate Xenoblade Chronicles than Xenoblade Chronicles X.
I’m just surprised at how the critical reception was received for both games.
While Xenoblade Chronicles was hailed as one of the best RPGs of its time, both Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 while also well received weren’t able to critically exceed the original game.
Loving XC2 so far! All three are just too drawer JRPG's and reason alone to buy the console they're on.
I’ve never played a Xenoblade game before, and I’m loving Chronicles 2. Technical issues aside(which is probably why it was able to release so quickly)it is an engrossing game. I love the characters, story, and the world. So glad I took a chance on it.
If you played the first game, you want to finish this game. I loved XCX as well but if you liked the first you need to finish this game and I can't say why without spoiler tags.
