Maker programs are hardly new, but admittedly most of my time has been spent with those of the RPG variety (though I have dabbled in other types as well). To its credit, Visual Novel Maker actually surprised me in some good ways. I had no idea what to expect going into it, but all in alll I found the software pretty accessible while remaining rather powerful for fans of the visual novel genre.

Hardcore Gamer: Visual Novel Maker comes with plenty of high quality assets so folks can start creating immediately. The drag and drop interface also intends to keep the barrier to entry as low as possible. With that said, there is also support for scripting so creators can expand the engine’s functionality.

Hardcore Gamer: Soon, a new software tool will go for sale on Steam. Degica have announced Visual Novel Maker. The software comes prepackaged with free to use assets, Live2D support, voice support, and multiple export options for your creation.
Definitely getting this, seems like it will be a good tool and lots of fun. Hopefully it is more simple to use than RPG Maker. A Fighter Maker would be good, haven't had one of those in a while.
