With that laptop cpu I doubt it unless it's a indie game and in 30fps

maybelovehate3080d ago (Edited 3080d ago )

The resolution doesn't really involve the CPU that much. Physics and such aren't affected by resolution. And even post processing is mostly done on the GPU. The CPU will help, but it won't typically touch every pixel or need to in each frame.

There are some instances where it can be an issue though, such as mesh sizes for cloth physics and things like that depending on how accurate you want it to be, but in most cases you can get away with guessing or close match to keep things running smooth. Especially if it is only for looks.

The CPU can bottleneck the GPU though, like running a 1080TI with a core i3

maybelovehate3079d ago

@2pac: definitely there are instances it can be a bottleneck but there are usually solutions or ways around it. But don’t get me wrong, the faster the cpu the better for sure. Offers so many ways to optimize and improve the overall game. For example allowing smaller file sizes by maximizing compression, more particle effects and more realistic particle effects, all audio, advanced lighting and effects, better collision detection and more advanced physics in general. CPU is just as if not more important than the gpu just not in regards to resolution.

Oh sh!T. It´s that you again, Shadowknight/MegamanXXX? Smdh.

N4G should ip ban you so we can finally be free of your constant trolling attempts .

Umm what are you talking about???🤔🤔

Between the two, the X is delivering more consistent 4k experiences than the Pro. I dont think anyone is going to dispute that, it's simple numbers. But when it comes to exclusive experiences then the Pro beats the X.

If you are someone who only picks a side then you are missing out no matter the side. It's why I choose to play both and soon I will add a switch to the mix.

LP-Eleven3079d ago (Edited 3079d ago )

If you have a PC and a Pro, you're not missing out on anything the Xbox has to offer.

OT: It's like the dev said, it alll depends on the framerate. The most demanding games will still only have true justice on PC (at least for Native 4K + 60fps). Very few 4K/60fps games on the X and I don't expect that to change much. But it will certainly have quite a bit of Native 4K titles @ 30fps. I expect next gen consoles to better serve that purpose.

spreadlove3079d ago

I don't think there is a single demanding AAA game on PS4 Pro that does native 4k. There are a significant number of them on Xbox One X though. I can't think of any in 60fps though. Maybe CoD: WWII?

bolimekurac3079d ago

where you saying that though ABOUT THE ABISMAL CPU in the pro

Not in open worlds. The combo jag witha gpu with 6 teraflops isnt enough, we already see this in all new big titles. Racers and platforms yes, but huge worlds with tons of npc isnt and multiplat much less

Fallout 4 is doing Native 4k on Xbox One X. In fact it hits native through almost the entire game except for 1 or 2 scenes according to DF. On top of that it is also using more detailed meshes as well. Pretty amazing.

Bhai3079d ago (Edited 3079d ago )

F4 is hardly graphically demanding... talk about DF's Quantum Break analysis... it runs only at 1440p on 1x... now THAT was a graphically demanding game... not only its far, far below 4K mark, but it has its own share of glitches not present in the base version... so yeah... its far from a 4K machine AND devoid of any world-class exclusives AND came out an year after the Pro AND is 100$ more expensive... i.e. the ultimate money-grab! hehehe ;)

Heads up :D

@Bhai: it might not be the prettiest but it is definitely demanding. Even on PC it has perf issues.

I was starting to wonder when gamingbolt was going to find another bottom feeder... Good job, this bud is for you.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
