Josh from The Total Bro says, "Epic Games announced today that Fortnite will be the latest in the growing list of Xbox One X Enhanced games. This is just another major hiccup on the road to Player Unkown’s Battlegrounds Xbox One release next month."

I haven't tried PUBG yet, but i think it'll be fine. Cartoon game vs gritty game. Its like comparing Overwatch and Counterstrike

maybelovehate2971d ago

Little competition never hurt anyone.. Good for the consumer.

jbeard2971d ago

Definitely agree. It's gonna be great for those of us who love playing both games.

G20WLY2970d ago

It's not a competition if one of them is free. If you can scratch your Battle Royale itch with Fortnite, pubg is potentially at a disadvantage.

Cmv382970d ago

Me playing fortnite on ps4 has made me completely forget about player unknown.

KillBill2970d ago

@Cmv38 - that and maybe the fact that PUBG is not playable on PS4?

kevnb2970d ago

on pc PUBG is showing no signs of slowing down.

UltraNova2970d ago

I have to admit that if I had to face the choice of paying for PUGB or simply downloading Fortnite for free, well you guessed it I'd choose the latter.

I have played quite a lot of Fortnite and I have to say its very fun and addictive, plus the building mechanic adds l alot of depth and strategy to the game, far more than any system found on PUGB.

But I can see people going with PUGB as well due to the more 'realistic' approach.

Tell that to EA, when NFL2k5 and NBA2k5 came out on ps2 for 19.99, it definitely hurt someone, the developers, publishers, CEOs etc. lOl...

Fortnite is an epic game and being available on all platforms is what's going to hurt PUBG, they went with the timed exclusive deal to fatten their pockets short term. That could definitely hurt them, if fortnite continues to add fuel to the fire, because the first two things ps4 gamers will say is, ehh this is an xbox game, what makes this game decent? oh it's just like fortnite without building on the fly, oh you can't do this, or that man this game wack delete keeps on playing fornite. Those that don't know the history behind the game will write it off faster than a rich man and a vacation.

cigi LOL!!
You deserve an A! lol,!

C-H-E-F2970d ago

@cigi
Those that do should and those that don't will write the game off as an xbox ported game that is probably garbage, but that isn't the case with this game it's actually pretty good (being a PS4 owner that have a PC).

lindquist2969d ago

@UltraNova - Thats like saying you choose Battlefield Heroes over BF1 because its free. The games might both be shooters, but they are waaaay different. I play both and I like both. One for concentrated gaming with my friends and one for laying in the coach playing with randoms.

well it's just going to be a res boost from what I see. The game isn't demanding really. I tried on PS4 and on my pc at max at 1080p and they basically were the same to me. I think, maybe I just didn't pay attention bet I never noticed much difference. It'll be fine PUBG will do fine, even if Fortnite has been eating away at it's playerbase recently

Bigpappy2971d ago (Edited 2971d ago )

We are talking 4K here though. The resolution alone only does sharper, clearer imaging. But it they the textures to match the resolution, you would be amazed at how different that game looks. Rise of Tomb Raider looks so much different on the X1X, that if actually feels different when you are playing it. The detail sells the atmosphere that much better and the drops like deeper.

As far as these 2 days are concerned: they are not my type of games, but as someone has already stated, the competition is good. I personally don't like the fact that Epic is trying to steal the ideas away from the little guys before they can even get off the floor.

jbeard2970d ago

The game I was most amazed by when I first ran it on the X1X was Smite. The textures were so much better. Then I went and bought a 4k TV w/ HDR10 and that threw the graphics threw the freaking ceiling. The difference between regular old 1080p and the 4k HDR are staggering.

andrewsquall2970d ago (Edited 2970d ago )

@jbeard There is no HDR support in Smite, yet you were still blown away by it's HDR somehow lol? It doesn't have enhanced textures either. So, yeah, exposed. From Xbox's very own page https://www.reddit.com/r/xb...

You all need to take a step back and stop making up and over blowing everything out of proportion when it comes to XboneX. 2 months ago, you all thought XboneX was launching, easily, with 120 enhanced games with "that number probably going to be 160 by launch". It ended up being 70 on launch day and has gotten to about 80 since.

And now the patches are trickling out slowly, even for first party games like Forza Horizon 3, just like they did with the PS4 Pro, that was of course "terrible support" according to all of you anyway. And now we get claims like yours that simply are lies.

Bigpappy2970d ago

Andrew. That's not the point. Even if it doesn't have HDR to take advantage of he HDR TV, he is still blown away by the difference he noticed on his new TV.
There are already over 100 games enhancements with 4K support, and it's only been 3 weeks. Nothing like the pro.

The pro is for you did. The X is for us. They to stay in the appropriate treads. Stop with the dick envy. Ours will always be bigger.

MecheSlays2970d ago

Pc max at 1080p looks better to me

kevnb2970d ago (Edited 2970d ago )

PUGB peaked at 2,670,991 players today, a Wednesday. I cant think of anything in gaming comparable to that except World of Warcraft and League of Legends.

gangsta_red2970d ago

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that MS was working with the devs for PUBG.

Who knows maybe there's an X update coming soon.

jbeard2970d ago

Rumors are that the download is "up to" 30 gb and that would put it around the size of a 4k download, so hopefully they are.

Fishy Fingers2970d ago (Edited 2970d ago )

Player Unknown himself said they’re targeting 4K assets/textures. I’m sure they’ll squeeze out what they can.

Regarding the article, fortnite runs better (artistic preference is objective, these being nothing alike whatsoever) on PC than PUBG, doesn’t seem to effect it’s popularity there, don’t see why it would on XB. Plenty of room for multiple games to happily coexist.

PUBG just seems to be the go to for silly articles atm. Tough at the top I guess.
