MT's are perfectly fine and optional. Usually poor people don't like it, but if you're poor then you're use to the rich winning over you anyway. Keep them cosmetic only and the whiners won't throw a sh*t fit.

They don't belong anywhere, we've been lied to. Spiderman Homecoming cost $175 million to make and that's exclusive of marketing costs.
MGSV, one of the most expensive videogames of all time, cost $80 million to make and that's inclusive of marketing costs.

I understand that films have a larger audience, but when your content costs four-five times as much as a film on DVD at a base model (given tiered versions exist) then you should be easily able to make your money back from selling the game alone. Especially when you can earn additional revenue from season passes and DLC content.

In fairness. They ONLY belong in free to play games. Since they made it and it's free, they gotta make the money back in some way. I don't mind paying for a character or class because I'm getting what I paid for. But loot boxes can go to hell.

On cosmetics and nothing else.

They don't belong anywhere. They are an exploitative, greedy and manipulative practice that takes advantage of the feeble minded people that partake in that venom. And no...im not telling anyone how to spend their money, but I will say that only spoiled children would waste money on something that petty. To the defenders out there, Basically what im saying is, You have the right to throw your money anywhere you want, and I have every right to call you a manchild for it :)

I don’t really care if they stay as long as they are handled properly. The best example of microtransactions and loot boxes being implemented perfectly is Uncharted 4. If all companies can simply copy the way that handled them, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Where all those ET game cartridges are buried.

XP Boosts maybe ? Currency in GT Style Games? Id say if you get 5 million Credits in a GT Forza Type of Game ask me for 5$€£ and i maybe do it. Just dont include 100$€£ microtransactions.

10 Dollar Packs - with each giving you a helping hand - not a complete advantage - just a helping hand. If you want more cars buy a pack - if you wanna reach prestige faster in COD do it - but dont make them double the amount of the Game

ON your cell phone or tablet were most games are free. That's how they make profit. Stay away from CONSOLES please.

short answer.. ideally not in a full priced game... Slightly longer answer i can see why cosmetic micro-transactions are considered acceptable.

They are fine in F2P games, if not affecting gameplay too much. Otherwise, they belong to the fkin trash.

Microtransactions can work, depending on the circumstances. However, the bare minimum requirement for them should be that any game that includes them MUST BE FREE. If you have to pay as much as a single penny for the game, microtransactions should not be in any way, shape or form an integral part of the game, they should be cosmetic at most. For a good reference point, see Warframe.

They belong on free to play games!

I remember the days microtransactions use to be very cheap full of content and purely a choice.

It's now a cancerous spread with a whole generation born into the idea. It shouldn't be forced because the disc content is very basic to start with.

I think they're great in a game like Path of Exile. A free to play game where they only serve the purpose of flattering the ego of the player by making the character look cooler.

In most other situations microtransactions are very hard to justify. When we pay 60 bucks, do we really want to be confronted with the fact we didn't buy all of it?

Anywhere but a $60+ game.
