Bethesda’s long awaited audio patch for DOOM has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch. However, it seems that the patch has caused more problems.
Evercade has teased a new DOOM release for their platform.
I hope they make a Doom themed VS unit with red lighting. it will be like the Duke 3d one they did a couple years ago.

Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

The video game industry is already so creative, but one thing that can be improved is its handling of space.
After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.
It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.
I think Doom (2016)’s audio in general is not very good. I played through the game on PS4, and there were plenty of sound mixing, directional audio issues plus many weak sound effects. I am not sure how the game won awards for sound design over Battlefield 1 last year.
Yet it's metacritic score is higher than the console versions for some mysterious reason.
Doom audio is great. Especially with the thrustmaster Y-300. Fighting the Cyber Demon Boss sounded Legendary.
Wow, so the moment a formerly-popular multiplat gets a good score on Switch, suddenly it can't be a legitimate score as far as N4G is concerned.
Oh no, it's gotta be BIAS and BOUGHT REVIEWS at work, even from publications other than Nintendo-related ones that normally don't give many good reviews to a lot of multiplats on Nintendo consoles./s
I'm betting most of the complainers didn't even remember DOOM EXISTED, until the Switch version became popular enough to give them a reason to rage at reviewers and Nintendo fans.
If it bothers you all so much, GO PLAY THE OTHER VERSIONS.
Quit coming into the Nintendo sections just to get all offended about the score. It doesn't change that the versions elsewhere are better on many technical levels.
Be content with that and go play the version you all like, like an adult gamer would, instead of wasting everyone's time coming up in here with all of that SALT.
"Obviously the environment down here is all salt.
The ceiling's salt, the floor's salt, the walls are salt, and to an extent the air is salt.
And you breath that in, and you can constantly taste the salt."
In an update to the article it says that if you power off and power on the system after installing the patch the issues are resolved after that. I so far haven't seen any, so I'm not sure if this is a widespread problem or not. I'm running on version 1.1.
