Screen Crittics Shaun discusses his concerns over EA's current state of affairs, with worries over the eventual form of Bioware's Anthem.
BioWare's multiplayer shooter Anthem was terminated this week because EA no longer wanted to maintain servers for people to play the game on, and without them, no one can play the game. But the former executive producer of Anthem has revealed that BioWare had technology working, close to the game's release, that would enable us to host our own servers to play the game on.

BioWare and EA had previously said the game would be accessible to those who owned it until it shuts down on January 12.

Time flies (like a Javelin suit): there are only 10 days left to play BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game Anthem before the servers are switched off, presumably forever.
In my opinion, Anthem was a good IP that was worthy of a no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 treatment.
To this day, their sub reddit is active and I was able to get into a game quickly a few weeks ago when I booted it up.
It is a shame EA and Bioware didn't want to give the game the overhaul it needed to turn it into a competent looter shooter.
I just finished this up a couple days ago. Although it's a bit repetitive and the story is meh, the game feels great to play. Even if you can only hop on the game for a couple hours before it shuts down, I think it's worth it.
2nd comment attempt (1st doesn’t appear & this may register as duplicate):
They can spend billions to buy or get bought but they can’t spend a fraction of that to fix or overhaul a game that could have been truly special, smh.
could have just said Why I Don't Trust EA
People will have to watch themselves with this. EA will be preparing like mad now for any future release and since this is an "online open world game with co-op elements" you know that's a game ripe for MTs and other shady deals to make money. I can honestly picture it like Destiny, Wildlands or The Division where it's lacking but you are supposed to get the most from it by constantly grinding with friends doing the same things over and over.
Since EA will not want to stop their money grabbing plans they will work their ass off coming up with the best PR team from when this game is revealed more at events like E3 to when it releases. The interviews, the articles, the well crafted videos which make you believe one thing only for launch to show you what it's really like...it's coming and it's going to come in full force. They'll be completely prepared and the sad thing is I know a lot of people on here alone can be "won" over by a well crafted trailer.
There is good reason to not trust them. Still excited for the game though
Why trust EA at all?
Meh from day one it was just a destiny clone, saw the money destiny was making and decided to get on the loot while it was hot.
Seeing how they did starwars you can expect worse with something they created where they have creative control on what they can charge for
