GamePro: The Conduit Preview

GamePro writes: "Confession time: I generally don't like playing FPS games on consoles, especially if it's on the Wii. As a long time computer gaming vet, I prefer my FPS action to come with a heaping side of mouse/keyboard controls; yes, I played the hell out of the Halo franchise and games like Resistance and Metroid Prime were pretty cool too, but if I have a choice, I'm going mouse and keyboard all the way.

Now, the Wii Remote's motion sensing capabilities were supposed to revolutionize FPS gaming on the Wii, what with its free-aiming ability, but if I'm honest, all it did was aggravate my carpal tunnel-it allow for more precise aiming, sure, but waving your arm around to aim gets tiresome real fast. I also hate the fact that you have to wave the remote to the extremes of the screen to get your view to move up, down, left and right; I always end up overshooting my target. So it takes one hell of a Wii FPS game to make me forget about the control issues and actually enjoy myself-the last Wii shooter to do that was Metroid Prime 3-which is why I have high hopes for The Conduit. I took the game for a spin at the Nintendo Fall Media Summit and even though it has control issues, I can't wait to play the game again."
