It looks good anyway, but when you see it on Xbox One X... holy moly.

Of course its a generation ahead. The Xbox One is a 1.3 teraflops machine and the X is 6 teraflops.

We are talking almost five times the power and got a much better ram setup and much faster bandwitch.

Shadowsteal2996d ago

Can't be a generation ahead if the regular Xbox One can still run it.

TorpeAlex2996d ago

lol. Modern PC games aren't a generation ahead because they're still compatible with old hardware? TIL that system scaling means your game isn't truly 'next-gen'.

Nes_Daze2996d ago

@Torpe Big difference between the leaps of PC graphics and that of gaming consoles...

XbladeTeddy2995d ago (Edited 2995d ago )

No way a generation ahead, a significant leap though and a good move by Microsoft. I love my PS4 Pro but this year Call of Duty and Assassins Creed I had to buy for the X. Have them sitting here waiting for the 7th.

And Dolby Atmos just seals the deal.

corroios2995d ago

The one isnt even a 1080p machine and the x is a 4k machine. Huge jump and a gen ahead.

SCW19822996d ago

Wow what an article header. Gotta get those clicks somehow, I guess its 2 Generations ahead on PC Lol.

Generation ahead of what? Pc? hahahahahaha HAHAHAHAAHAH

Redemption-642996d ago

And how many generations is the x ahead of the Xbox 1 and S? Better yet how far back is Xbox as a whole when comparing exclusive games with PS4

ninsigma2996d ago

Too bad for you they're comparing to Xbox one s not ps4 or ps4 pro.

pyroxxx2996d ago

if this is next gen ,.. it is even more disappointing than from ps3 to 4

TejasTV2996d ago

Actually they are comparing against the S

ziggurcat2996d ago

interesting... I did not realize that the Xbox One S is the same as the PS4/PS4Pro, since... you know... they're saying it looks a generation ahead compared to the Xbox One S.

Tazzy2996d ago

Its a generation ahead of the Xbox One S its not a generation above the PS4PRO version theres a huge difference.

rainslacker2996d ago

pretty weak generational leap to only go 50% more powerful than the pro wouldn't you say?

I'd imagine next gen will clock in around 10-12GB depending on how long this gen is stretched out because of these silly mid-gens from Sony and MS.

jmc88882996d ago

No, but you can compare it to consoles.

Cueil2996d ago

Yes we are on the 8th gen i7s and going into the third gen of dx12 cards... Not to mentionx32 to x86 and that's just within the last decadeish

bluefox7552996d ago (Edited 2996d ago )

They kinda do. They have GPU and CPU gens, which is really what defines their graphical capacity.

rainslacker2996d ago

Yes, but not in the same way consoles do.:)

I remember being happy having a 386 and how exciting it was when my dad upgraded to a 486. The pentium was awesome.

A generation ahead of the Pro. LoL, it is like night and day. Beastly!

NoPeace_Walker2996d ago (Edited 2996d ago )

"keep dreaming "

Keep having nightmare in those digital foundry comparisons. ☺

2pacalypsenow2996d ago

Night and day is Ps1 to Ps3, this is not Night and day

Darkstryder3602996d ago

Price wise, hell yeh. Build me a PC that can run Forza 7 at 4k 60fps, locked, for £450.

Every time I leave this comment I never get a reply, please someone build one haha.

Darkstryder3602995d ago

Dude build me this God damn PC please. Don't let me down.

I've Been Replaying Assassin's Creed Origins, And It's Reminded Me What Shadows Is Sorely Lacking

It took going back to a much older game to realise just how empty Assassin's Creed Shadows feels.

"I've never thought feudal Japan would be a good Assassin's Creed setting. Give me 1960s southern England with mods and rockers."

Aaaaaaand that's where I stopped reading.

Terry_B235d ago

Never read anything on that website.

chicken_in_the_corn235d ago

I agree with the first part of their statement. Japan is so overused and it wasn't particularly interesting in Shadows. Now that it's been done, they can do something better.

isarai233d ago

Tf? Almost had an aneurysm at the thought of that concept, like what?

And shadows reminds me of something origins is lacking. Virtually every game is lacking something. It is because it is lacking, that it has what it isnt. Funny dichotomy that…

anast235d ago

Origins is a beautiful game made by talented people that got turned into a brutal level-gate fest by the CEOs.

PRIMORDUS235d ago

There are only a few Assassin's Creed games I played. Original, The Ezio Collection, and what I think is probably the best in the series Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the DLC. I'm done with the series, it's the same shit.

isarai233d ago (Edited 233d ago )

Same, enjoyed 1, looooved the ezio trilogy, and 4 was peak, everything after that just sucked. Unity was a great direction but the bugs and how long it took to fix killed it, best parkour system in the series tho

AC Origins is the last great Ubisoft game. Period. This game show how great the Ubisoft story writing once was. Also the meticulous research Ubisoft did in the field of Egyptology. Ubisoft was so pride of their research that it made a separate Touring mode just to showcase all of their study.

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden986d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar986d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter986d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

TheEnigma313986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

HellspawnPR1981986d ago

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman986d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
