I bought the switch 1 Mario odyssey bundle when it came out. Good thing Nintendo didn't charge for the switch 2 upgrade.

Donkey Kong is an average game. Mario Kart is now neutered and watered down. I'm hoping Metroid is at least above average.
Donkey Kong had so much more than they showed in the direct. Not to spoil anything but considering people were assuming there'd be like 4 or 5 "worlds" in total, many were shocked to find out just how far the game keeps going.
I'm having a blast with the game myself, but to each their own. MK is a solid entry in the series, is it the best? Debatable. But it's not like it's a bad game at all.
I feel your assessment. The destruction & playability in DK is phenomenal. MK has a ton to unluch and some dope tracks. It's something about both that didn't punch in areas where it needed the most.
i wouldnt compare these games at all.
but, having played both, Odyssey is the better game.
First Mario game I’ve played since Sunshine as I’ve been out of the Nintendo loop for over a decade now lol. What an experience so far, I’m in the 4th world and I’m absolutely in love with the gameplay and overall charm of this game. It’s gonna be tough deciding between this, Zelda, and P5 for my GoTY.
This game eats time like it's nothing. The mark of a truly great game. I can play for 4 hours before needing a break
i watched the review on youtube. the same boring nintendo shtick as ever. oh look at us, we are reusing our old assets again to create ancient levels for your enjoyment. and then look at us how we are mixing 3rd person and 1st person. we never ever did this before. and now the best: stars are now some other sprites you’ll have to collect. give me a freaking break. they would rather go down in flames than provide a fresh approach that brings videogaming forward. lousy company with a lousy approach, but people are going nuts because they played nintendo as kidsand don‘t realize what they are celebrating there. nintendo, in my eyes, is pure evil.
This is the best 3D Mario game ever made. Very impressive. I am at the last kingdom and it has been one smooth ride. Keep rolling out that amazing quality Nintendo because you're doing an amazing job at it.
They eliminated two of my biggest complaints in prior games - the timer, and the game over screen. While same may debate this, the Game Over screen has no place in modern games. It was designed for arcades and scenarios in which the player needed an indicator to insert more coins. I am thankful it is not a part of this experience.
I also LOVE the charm on this one. Run mario into a cactus. Love the little touches like that. Just challenging enough to not be frustrating, and the sense of wonder and exploration are everywhere. There is a purpose for the coins now, which is a welcome addition.
