Recycling and remastering old games is not fixing the problem. Until all AAA 3rd party titles can be released on it without having to remove content or water the game down, the issue will remain. Yes they have done better but I honestly could care less. I can already play DOOM, Skyrim, etc on my PC and PS4 and have a much better experience than the Switch offers. I could care less about the mobile features, when you have to remove parts of an old game, it is not competing.

Not necessarily, last generation versions of multiple games , missing features this actually looks similar to what we've seen from previous generations from them.

It is very clear that the system having weaker Hardware along with a limited and expensive media format is going to continue to hold them back. When you have titles like LA Noire being the last generation version as well as the most expensive version it doesn't really help. I don't know if I would say a six-year-old board is some sort of turn of Fortunes, if anything I'll argue the excitement for these old games only goes to show just how bad it's gotten.

Don't get me wrong LA NOIRE is a great game but I don't see me skipping any of the major titles coming this fall for this game. I see this as one man's trash is another man's treasure.

I hope everyone loves their switch, with that being said....porting old games to switch isn't exactly a monumental victory(Yeah I know nba2k18 is coming blah blah)

I'm glad to see the switch doing so well. I'll probably buy one for my daughters Christmas as she likes a lot of what Nintendo offer, like I did when I was younger. I do disagree with the cost of their hardware though.

Previously third parties have had no reason to port their games to graphically inferior Nintendo systems. Now, while still less powerful than competitors, the Switch at least offers something that makes it's version of the game stand out with the portable aspect. I know I'm buying as many multiplatform titles as I can on switch.

It's great that the Switch is getting ports of these games though personally I'm more interested in seeing Nintendo/Third party collaborations like Mario + Rabbids. I'd be down for a Telltale Mario or Metroid game.

The problem being that Nintendo is "Fixing" it but it isn't completely fixed. Indies are indeed Third-Party and We've gotten announcements for some pretty good and recent games. The problem I see is the release of games concurrently or simultaneously, with Bethesda, Ubi, Square, EA, Capcom, one can't be sure as to whether this is a change in approach I.e. Porting games over while development catches up to Sony and Ms or the status quo of porting older games and calling it a failure if these "old ports" don't sell.

Sony has built its reputation with Third-Party globally back with Ps1 and MS with 360 here in the US and UK, companies are willing to take risks by releasing games that will knowingly do less than optimal sales. Nintendo alienated itself and now its working on "fixing it" but we'll see how successful they are when 2018 rolls around. Whats making it easier is the HYBRID nature everyone knows Nintendo sells portables like hotcakes, the new line of thinking is " Switch will sell as a High tier portable to those who want to use it thus, Switch will be a lower tiered home console for those who want it as such" and for those that use it both ways? It's a plus! I think Third-Party Devs see the universal appeal this could have in the long run.

I'm buying all 3rd party games that I'm interested in for Switch. Provided they come to it of course.

If by year 2 and 3 we keep seeing 3rd party, then we will know Nintendo has 3rd party support. Wii u had 3rd party fr the 1st year and then droped off like a brick, same with wii.
We will have to wait and see.

We just need to continue supporting quality 3rd party games. I missed out on Dragonball Xenoverse 2 on the PS4, mainly because I didn't really want to pay $60 and had a lot on my plate. Buying it day one for the Switch to show support for 3rd party games and to try and get Fighter Z on the Switch.

Third party support? You mean last-gen ports? Or games this gen that are easier to run and dumbed down like Doom?
Sure I thought it was impressive too until I saw that even the STOCK PS4 ran it at 1080p and 60fps while the Switch, with lower settings, manages 720p and 30fps...

So yeah, nah, Switch isn't saving anything. Only thing that can really bring 3rd party AAA support is better hardware that can run the games. A lot...a TON...of compromises have to be made to port games to the Switches hardware...even from the much stronger OG Xbox One in comparison (especially where CPU and RAM differences are concerned).

I'm sure I'll get chewed out here since Nintendo criticisms and whether their OK or not on the site seem to flip flop like crazy but this is my one and steady view on Nintendo. Decent ideas, good first party titles, weak yester-year hardware with weaker 3rd party support.

I hope third party support is here to stay! I hate to be that guy but... the Wii U had a couple of great third party games just after it came out (Batman, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc). I'm more excited with brand new vs re-releases though. Let's hope this is a sign of the times! :D
