Considering that most people who own consoles don't even read gaming news it will probably sell well. It's just bad textures for the most part anyway so for console gamers who don't own a 360 it would still be a great experience.

simply because Little Big Planet and Dead Space look a lot better in every respect. Even so, couple of screen comparison shots and people are starting to think it'll be a flop, it looked fine to me. I don't nitpick every single detail, and that's where the enjoyment is, imo. Nothing will be 100% perfect, that's what I always say.

...who liked the demo? Great atmosphere, I'm really looking forward to playing it through. Luckily I don't sit right up to my screen and scrutinize every little detail. I did notice the big daddy texture problem when playing though the demo and thought to myself, "hmm, that's odd, must be a mistake on the developers' part" and kept playing. Quit your whining, people.

It seems as though Bioshock on the PS3 was rushed just to make a quick buck. Bioshock wasn't on my buy list this Fall anyways (I planned to get it next year), but it looks as though I wont be getting it after all if the final version of the game isn't any better.

PS3 gamers have too much of a wide selection of games to choose from this Fall and it's not like the only game we have to choose from is Bioshock, and if 2K doesn't get the final version of Bioshock up to speed, Bioshock on the PS3 will more than likely flop in sales because people aren't going to spend $60 bucks on a lower quality port when then can go get a game that's worth $60 bucks like SOCOM, Fallout 3, or LBP in October.

If 2K wants Bioshock on the PS3 to be a success, I think that they need to delay the game for a month to make sure everything is as perfect as it can be and then release it.

If they don't delay it until late November, it probably will.

Oh my poor little boys. Big Daddy has pixels on the back, Little Sister's eyes don't shine enough... It's all an universe that is falling. Sure, Bioshock is a total crap, because all the scenario, the background, the gameplay, etc... remains in a bunch of dirty pixels. How sad PS3 owners must be to have a Bioshock on their PS3.

There are good games out there with really bad demos and vice versa. The fact that the final version isn't out just tells me that there can be a good version coming. I almost take a demo like a beta because it's just a sliver of the experience, everything else could be fine. Key word here is "could" lol, and I do remember problems in the original too (PC versions).

i think the grafixs were pretty good, i was hoping for this game for so long and now its here, i cant wait to get it, really more stuff is better than a little differences in grafixs, dont u think.

They failed to make a decent port and we should not reward them by paying $60 for it.

2K Games should learn from vastly superior PS3 developers like Insomniac and Naughty Dog.

Uncharted, which was released a year ago, makes any version of Bioshock look like last-gen.

This may not be an indicator of what the actual game will be. As for it already going gold, is this from that gold final copy or a previous version as what is common with demos? The warning before you play the game usually states that the demo is not a final version and may change by release. I'll wait to pass judgment until I get a copy of it in my hands and see it with my own eyes. I'm still going to get this game.

I am getting absolutely sick of having 2nd rate multiplats ditched on the PS3. This is looking more and more like the hardware limitations of the PS3. There is no way that so many companies can be having such poor performance from the PS3 unless there is major hardware issues.

This is very concerning to me, and I think that ultimately, I will sell my PS3. I was under the assumption that the PS3 was the most powerful console, but time and time again, the 360 continues to outperform it.

This is getting to be a very very serious issue for the PS3 and Sony.

Exaggerate much? Its below 720p; who cares? I played it and it looked fine to me and so did GTA4, COD4 and every other game that runs at below 720p, I am more worried about the people who count pixels and truly care about stuff like that.

The people who really wanted this game had the chance to buy it a year ago; the fact is that many people did not buy a 360 to play the game so it got bought to them on PS3. If you have had a year to buy the game and decided not to are you really gonna say "I truly want to play this game and have waited a year to do so but knowing that the demo does not run exactly as well as the 360 version I will never play the game".

The simple fact is, most people who will buy the PS3 version at the lower price it will sell for will have ever played the 360 version and as such the PS3 port is good enough. No its not perfect but frankly the appearances in all these sort of things are only apparent when viewed side by side.

In short, play the game and enjoy it as an example of this generations best games. If you can't stand the idea of playing a game without the absolute top graphics buy a 360 to play it or just don't play it at all and do yourself a disservice.

I have the pc version and the graphics are much better than the Xbox version but the game but it does not detract from the actual game play .... so what. IMO this game was too hyped and I was quite dissapointed with the gameplay , felt too much like a wannabe deus ex game.

Bare in mind I have yet to see a ut3 engine game that was originaly made for pc/xbox 360 and ported over to ps3 run and look as well.... I did not expect this to change on the ps3 either because it is a PORT.

the demo is a demo. the full version of the game is 3 weeks away. it's bioshock with extra stuff for those that want it get it. it's an aweosme game, but for those that played it on PC and xbox 360 last year, it aint worth getting this game on the same day as LBP, or worth a play with all the new games coming out this fall.

a year old multiplat verses a brand new exclusive and new multiplats ... I'll take the latter especially since i've played and beat Bioshock on the 360 already.... i've got no reason to plunk down 60 bucks for a year old game... it's LBP and dead space, and resistance 2 and Socom, Motorstorm:PR, Naruto:UNS, Eternal sonata(haven't played it yet) valkryia chronicles and prince of persia.

and it played just as good as when i beat it on the 360 .... sorry if i didnt jump on top of the big daddy and examine the textures or examine the walls or the tile on the floor or take screenshots so i can zoom in and see the flaws. after playing the 360 version i already know how good of a game it is. so if your not going to buy it (60 dollars is too much for a year old port) then you should at least rent it because it truly is a amazing game

2k Has acknowledged that the demo is less than stellar. But for them to totally miss certain aspects of the game and just plain "forget" is kind of off the wall antics that should be reserved for shows like Laurel and Hardy.

Although, they are not perfect.. I'd wait for the retail game to be reviewed. While I hate reviews and this goes against my own code in terms of reviews.. I'd say check out previews and reviews for the retail game before deciding to cancel tyour pre-orders.

I don't think 2k is stupid enough to shaft PS3 owners, knowing we have games like Killzone 2 and Uncharted to show them that graphics are our specialty.

I'm couldn't find the original message I posted about my experience with Bioshock last year. SO I gotta retype it :(

Basically, I played it on the *PC* (read *best version*), in 1920x1080p at a constant 60 frames per second. I loved the sharp graphics, the creepy atmosphere, the eerie sound design, and overall top notch quality of the game. However, a quarter way through the game, it became clear this game is beyond overrated.

The story went south really quick, while the errand boy runs got more and more annoying. Some might point out this was part of the "would you kindly" storyline... don't give me that BS kids. When that line hit me, I said to myself, "Oh, so there's a reason why I had no choice but to trudge myself through the errand runs, thanks."

Honestly though, once you beat Bioshock, and view one of the two ridiculously stupid endings, that's IT. You're done. Don't bother playing it again for the other ending, its not worth it. You're better off saving some time and looking up the YouTube video.

In conclusion, if your a PS3 owner and haven't played the full game, and you somehow by chance liked the demo. Do yourself a favor and either...

A.Rent the game. Don't worry about finishing the game, seeing as they have you doing the same thing seen in the demo over and over again.

B.Don't even bother. WIth all the PS3 exclusives dropping this fall, why waste your time with a drab single player experience?

well its 29.99 in the uk compared to 39.99 normal price at game,i don,t know what demo you got its 1.8 gb over here and i have to say when your given the option to adjust the brightness at the start i can,t tell the difference.had to bring a mate over to check it against his 360 version, even he is puzzled to what all the fuss is about, he said its a great game and one he didn,t think would be on ps3 as it was supposed to be exclusive.thats p*ssed him more off

Bioslop on the POS3 = Leftovers and Sloppy Seconds

The game isnt a Flop but the Original supperior version as been out for almost a year now so the interest the people had back then isnt the same now. People that are interested in it should either rent it or get the PC version if your CPU can run it or if you own a 360 or have the intention of getting one in the near future you might think of checking it out.

They are usually harsh and I trust their reviews. They would have mentioned any major faults with the game.

It's fun how these stories pop up over a small texture problem in the demo, which 2K are aware of.

Why should the game be a flop? It's still the same game. I have it for 360 and it's really great. The PS3 fans must buy this game ... it doesn't matter if one version looks a bit better than the other version. That's ridiculous. Enjoy the gameplay and the extra content.

ya i dont think this will sell as well as the 360 version did because when it came out on the 360 it was seen as a fresh and new ip sony this fall already has too many games for this to be practical for me and others to buy(baring very deep pockets!) r2 lbp id prolly try dead space or mirrors edge before this because they are what bioshock was last year

PS3 is EXACTLY the SAME in every way mind you, except the framerate jitters badly in active scenes. everything else, colour, res, textures, are ALL SAME

... programmers need to check their elementary education again, cause we can see what PS3 is capable of. Bioshock was a great game on X360 and PC, great graphics, sound, story (linear), gameplay (not linear).

I personally feel disrespected by this BS. First of all they f#ck everything up by not developing at the same time, second of all they are now late with PS3 version and it feels even worse. Please, that cannot be forgiven. Just like someone already said, smaller price tag, or change the game to better, else don't expect a nickle from me and probably a majority of gamers.

I have been looking forward to this, havn't played the demo fully yet. I just think the problem is a year ago this was a good game, but to release it around now there is just so much more to choose from AND bigger and better things coming very soon so peoples expectations are much higher...it looks nice graphics wise, one ive played the demo I'll decide whether I pick it up, but it will have to be good to justify a purchase with so many others coming out

...I played the demo and the graphics weren't bad at all. In fact, the graphics were pretty good so I don't see what the hell these people doing the comparisons are talking about. It's not my cup of tea so I'm not buying it.

But whoever wants to buy the game, buy it for the sake of gameplay and not graphics. The gameplay is good and most of all, it's pretty fun.

Remember the Snes, great console but how did that compare with the graphics on the NEO GEO? They were out at the same time. The Neo Geo was vastly more powerfull.. If they ported a game from Snes to NEO GEO it would be vastly better graphicly and frame rate wise.

The demo was good but not as good as I was expecting. For all the 9's and 10's reviewers have been throwing to this game you'd think the shooting element would be solid. The weapons lack depth and the character reloads like he has rigor mortis. I did like the 50's like atmosphere, powers, and the graphics were good but the shooting is stiff.

Sony supporters are known to be a stubborn bunch. For example, Devil May Cry was seen as a AAA title by most Sony fans and once it became a multi platform game than most of them boycotted it. So knowing that the 360 version is better will more likely turn away many Sony fans. It's a shame really. Your missing out on some great games. Bioshock is plain and simple a masterpiece and WILL BE THEE BEST GAME ON THE PS3!

Bioshock in my eyes was over rated after playing the demo. Even if the graphics were the same the action and story are pretty lame..

Uncharted is miles beyond bioshock. And i think uncharted was way under rated.. Another 360 exclusive at the time over rated by the media.. Bioshock is a decent game but nothing special like the media made it when it was 1st released.. Now MGS4 is revolutinary.

Now i'll get straight to the point.

The ps3 has less memory then the 360, because of the larger os footprint on the ps3. Yes both have 512mb.

It's roughly 40mb. And this is getting smaller. But it also depends on where you use those textures.

Both version of bioshock run@ 720p with no aa. Proven many times.

I agree 2k has made a bad error here. Considering bioshock's main character is really big daddy.

I do have another point as well.

A little while back people were playing the motorstorm demo, and most people know, that this demo was an old build(not sure why on earth they do this, same occured with heavenly sword)

I can tell you, the retail game looks nothing like the old build.

Who wants bioshock anyway a good game on the 360 is a crap game on the ps3 simple as that i wouldn't let reviews fool you because i have an idea they have 2 different scales for the ps3 and 360 to put it simple if you read a review about mortal kombat 3 on the snes(360) and then read a review about mortal kombat 3 on ps2(ps3) and the snes version scored higher it doesn't mean the snes version is the best it means it was good on that specific console considering on what that console is capable of , the 360 can maybe get a family member or close friend to make a pop-up book version of this point for you so you can maybe better understand this concept then that way you can stop comparing the mediocre 360 with the far superior ps3 games .exclusives are the only way to understand what a console is capable of and from what i can tell the ps3 is in a league of its own and the 360 is down there with the wii.

Wow the big daddy texture looks like crap so what it is not like the game is completly focused on big daddys.There are like 3 per level.I could see it being a issue if all Ai had texture issues but come on who the hell is really going to care if something you see 3 times per level is really going to make the game crap.

This reminds me of all the hate against the Orange Box on the PS3. I just finished it recently and it was nothing short of awesome. There were a few times when the frame rate dropped but it didn't hamper my enjoyment of this fantastic game in the slightest. If you just went by the postings on forums you'd think it was unplayable. This couldn't be further from the truth.
This is just like Xbots to spread this kind of wild speculation. They just couldn't live with the idea that one of their games was ported over to the PS3 and was better. Again, we'll have to wait till the final version comes out but this all smacks of over reaction to me.

Right, so this is what I'm going to buy now

1. Lego Batman (come on, they're funny)
2. LittleBigPlanet (played the Beta and loved it)
3. Dead Space (maybe, I'll see what the demo has to offer)

I'll get Bioshock second hand if I can find it cheap, but I'd rather have a cheap Dualshock 3 instead.

The demo was OK, but, to be honest, I'm getting really bored of First Person Shooters now.

Been waiting for this version for a while, and liked system shock 2 on PC so some minor graphical gliches wont make me not to buy it.

bad textures on Bigdaddy?

I know it's a demo that is three weeks away, but it still is a demo.The game itself could be shined up miraculously in just that time. I agree though, with one of the posters here, that i HATE rewarding lazy developers with my heard earned cash. The game did look like fun on 360, but i would never ever ever buy a 360, first off because i don't like Microsoft products, and second, the system is laughably plagued with the worst console hardware failure rate in the history of games, let alone for hardware from any manufacturer in the world. AS a quality inspector for government electronics, i see a lot of product that needs fixin', and i make sure it gets corrected. Microsoft's negligence to fix the problems before mass production is only their fault. I'm not saying that Sony doesn't have their share of problems, but at least my 60 gigger is still faithfully trucking along, even after extensive hours of Drakes,Rock Band,MGS4,COD4, and Resistance(To name a few). Hopefully the PS3 Bioshock isn't riddled with these glitches upon release. With the release so close, i doubt there will be a pushback.

I should've bought the PC version months ago instead of waiting for this kinda news, my PC is more than capable, ran the demo excellently.

im playing The demo ona samsung 32" HDTV .. and i have the full copy of Bioshock on my pc ( a intel 3.30ghz dual core 2 ... 6gb ram.. vista... )and i can pplay it on tyhe highest setting .
And tbh after playing bioshock on my hdtv screen via my pc and then playing the ps3 demo. i could not tell a difference!
theres no slow downs or nothin, the colours arent bad there good and sharp!
The water effects and bluring is all nice and fluid and doesnt slow down the game at all.
I think most of you xbox ffans are just jealous ours looks like the pc version! or you dont have a ghigh quality pc to actually know what it should look like ;)

the game was still fun to me and i didnt notice the stupid little things, so game was still fun. i will just rent it anyway since i get free rentals :D. tho if games can look gorgeous on ps3 like sigma, heavenly, mgs4, resistance 2 etc why can 2k do anything??? is it proof of their lack of ability or just laziness

and can confirm that all the details in the article are correct. I hate to say this cause I do really like the PS3, but BioShack for the PS3 looks horible. I will not be getting this game for the PS3.

It should be $39.99 or $49.99 but oh well. I'll picking it up again regardless and for the people who say their disappointed, it was only a demo so you're not going too get the full experience.

I'm just happy there bringing it to PS3, Not everyone has a Awesome PC or enough dosh for a 360 and a PS3 so im lookin forward to playing a awesome game that otherwise i wouldn't of been able to play, and it's only £30 so why not.

I cranked the sharpness on my Bravia, and it makes the game look sooooo much better...

Still though, the fact that I had to alter my settings THAT MUCH, is unacceptable.

Bioshock is a good game, I played it on the PC. Do not play this game expecting it to live up to a 10, because as i've said before this game is not a 10. PS3 owners are going to be disappointed if your expecting a game of the year/10 game. This game is good but overrated. Kinda like going to watch a movie that you've heard nothing but great things about and coming out saying "Well it was good but not as good as people made it out to be". Do yourself a favor, play Bioshock expecting a 7.75 or 8.0 and you will be pleased.
