Translation: Game isn't as large as expected.

Ricegum3170d ago

Or...just slow down and enjoy the game.

admiralvic3170d ago

Or... just don't tell people how to play.

One of the issues I have with posts like yours or this is that they tell people how they're suppose to enjoy the game. Regardless of how much content or reason for it, I'm going to rush through the story, because the story isn't what I fine enjoyable in Destiny. It's the raids, strikes and good times with friends and random people that makes Destiny stand out/be fun.

By slowing down, it takes longer to get to the stuff I like, which makes my experience worse. Now, Bungie could do the community a favor by delaying the raid, as now I feel like I have a week to get 260 light or I'll miss out on the fun of going into the raid blind and likely have that one person who has to go on Reddit and find the solution after one failure, ruining the fun of figuring it out, so if they made us wait, like, a month, that might change things, but right now I want to rush and the game is basically telling me to rush, so I'm trying to get to where I want so I can enjoy it, even if that involves playing faster, not slower.

shinrock3170d ago

Or play at your own pace.

KyRo3170d ago

The campaign is nearly double the size of the original destiny game. The story is a major improvement, I've only played two strikes but they play more like mini raids and that's not including the adventures, patrols, lost sectors, crucible stuff etc. There's quite a bit of content here. I'm on the last mission (had it early) and I've been surprised how long it is.

3170d ago
Servbot413170d ago

Double the size? So it'll take you two days instead of one?

KyRo3170d ago (Edited 3170d ago )

@Servbot if that's all you play destiny for is the campaign and nothing else then Destiny ain't the game for you. The campaign is there to serve its purpose and get you ready for the end game. That's when we discover if there's enough to do in destiny but on the surface theres plenty to do and that's with out Trials, raids or nightfalls available yet.

@douchebag nothing surprises me with N4G. I love the site but it's community in the comment section is terrible for the most part.

jugo143170d ago

this is an outright lie. The beta said it all. The game is no different than the first. tired of you fucking toxic ass destiny fanboys. Its like they can do no wrong. The game fucking sucks ass.

Translation: the base story missions are actually quite large. But you still need to rush through if you want to raid and do trials of osiris

UnHoly_One3169d ago

Not unless you feel like you have to do it the instant it becomes available.

It's not like the Raid appears for a week and then goes away.

It'll still be there even if you don't hit max level till December.

thekhurg3169d ago

@unholy

Except finding a group that's willing to deal with you being a complete raid noob by the time December comes around will be very complicated.

Gitgud3169d ago

I finished the story in 8-9 hours, that's pretty decent if you ask me lol. I haven't done that much side quests or any exploring. I didn't play that much pvp and never even touched the end game content. Also, the game is pretty big in size.

People use boosters, and I remember in Destiny 1 when they released those "Three of Coin" exotic engram drops, people grinded for them BEFORE the DLC, and used them to get all the new content. Those same people complain of nothing to do in the game. Enjoy it at your own pace people.

kevnb3170d ago

or rush through it and get to the end game content, whatever way you like is fine.

Ricegum3170d ago

Yep. But then you'll get the bandwagon of haters saying it's not big enough, even if the content is reasonable.

Michiel19893170d ago

maybe the content isnt reasonable for them. People have different tastes, expectations etc.
And you can't statisfy everyone, there will always be haters for a game

Honestly Thank Goodness!! Yet another good sign of a possibility of returning to what made them great and undoing Jim Tyans trend chasing love service gamble. Still gotta wait and see just what direction they're going but this is a good sign in my book that they're not betting it all on live service anymore

S2Killinit94d ago (Edited 94d ago )

Not sure what you lot are talking about anymore. They need to cover all range of games. Im primarily a single player gamer, but even I cannot be daft enough to ignore the fact that we need all manner of games including live service games. Everyone here seems to be a market expert.

isarai_lee94d ago (Edited 94d ago )

Yes "all manner" not just exclusively live service like Jim was doing, but you also shouldn't be forcing devs to make games they not only have no experience making, but also flatout dont want to do.

S2Killinit94d ago

Assuming that anything like that is actually the case and not just a perception of n4g commenters of course.

Redemption-6494d ago

@isarai_lee

I don't understand why you people have to keep making up lies. You can say you don't like some or most of their focus being on live service games, but to say they were exclusively focusing on live service games is pure copium. At most half of their games were live service and the rest were single player games. Seriously why lie about something so obvious?

isarai_lee93d ago

@Redemption-64

You say that as if we don't have word directly from Jim Ryan and PlayStation stating they wanted at least 12 live service games released within a year. Followed by tons of official word of those Live Service games being cancelled after he was pushed out. All studios combined at the time PS had 15 studios, 12 is a hell of a lot more than half of 15, and it was definitely their primary focus evident by the fact that a huge portion of their studios have taken uncharacteristically long to release or announce anything since, hell some studios have yet to release anything this gen almost 6 YEARS LATER! The only one making stuff up is you.

It may take a while but maybe they are finally learning. Good! Now stop with the live service crap.

ABizzel194d ago

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a live service here or there, but to have many of your studios start focusing on it when there has been little to no experience among them was wild.

Christopher95d ago (Edited 95d ago )

They say this and then immediately release news of the Horizons co-op game that will definitely be a Live Service game.

isarai_lee94d ago

I feel like they knew that given the fact that the very furst thing they say in the trailer is to reassure they still make so games 😆

vTuro2494d ago

Bet they're regrettings spending those billions pretty hard right now.

S2Killinit94d ago

Destiny has been a huge success.

Redemption-6494d ago

They will not. Destiny has been popular for over 10 years, something most games can never hope to achieve. Most people, including myself those Bungie was going to make a D3 after the final shape DLC. Marathon looks to be a hit and a D3 announcement could break records.
