Eh, They should just call it parkour mercenary's creed now IMO, I feel like it looks a lot less fun now that the stealth has taken a backseat and the fighting looks terrible as far as I can see.

I think they really messed up actually. I feel like it is not different enough to attract anyone who didn't like the old and too different to keep the fanbase interested. (obviously there will be exceptions to that, just speaking generally)

Wolfrunt3055d ago

Am liking the setting , new Eagle vision , new weapons & combat and story so far .

showtimefolks3055d ago (Edited 3055d ago )

don't know why but for me personally this isn't something that has me hyped. A lot has been shown but it still gives me the same old same old feeling. Just to scratch my AC itch i may just buy the AC2 trilogy collection because in my opinion those were the best games

i never played blackflag is that worth playing? i know it's the same developers who are making this game

EatCrow3055d ago (Edited 3055d ago )

Well the game looks really different to me.
Combat looks overhauled and the loot system looks like a terrible idea but will definitely affect player vs world progression.

My only real gripe is the characters. AC main protagonists have gone from the likes of Altair and Ezio. 2 very interesting characters with depth to much more interesting characters with little to no depth. I suspect its because of the diversity agenda...but...if you're gonna give me an egyptian...at least give me an egyptian I will want to control and play with.

Wolfrunt3055d ago

Black-flag was very good , liked the story , plus the DLC adds to .
just avoid Unity that was a mess and just unnecessary In my opinion .

4Sh0w3055d ago

Nah, showtime,

I think this one is actually looking better than recent installments, I mean its not really a "pure" AC game but it looks a helluva lot more interesting than the last couple of games imo, maybe it's the setting an new combat gameplay mechanics. I think I'ma check this one out when it's released.

First game I am going to load up on my One X!!! Cannot wait

Espangerish3055d ago

Actually tempted to get the one x for this. The pro never felt like enough of an upgrade for me.

mafiahajeri3055d ago

I find it very interesting that roman's are in this I hope they play a big part, hopefully they show up mid late game and fyck shit up.

Tankbusta403055d ago (Edited 3055d ago )

Well if the one trailer showing Caesar and Cleopatra is any indication of the time period,Rome wont be showing up...they will be in charge. At that time in history Egypt's days as a powerful empire were long gone and Rome used the province as basically their breadbasket for grain.

Edit: No need to be sarcastic, your post made it seem like you didn't know...sorry for trying to be helpful. Jeez the internet is full bruised egos.

Thank you teacher for the brief but informative history lesson, that I already knew...

I've Been Replaying Assassin's Creed Origins, And It's Reminded Me What Shadows Is Sorely Lacking

It took going back to a much older game to realise just how empty Assassin's Creed Shadows feels.

"I've never thought feudal Japan would be a good Assassin's Creed setting. Give me 1960s southern England with mods and rockers."

Aaaaaaand that's where I stopped reading.

Terry_B235d ago

Never read anything on that website.

chicken_in_the_corn235d ago

I agree with the first part of their statement. Japan is so overused and it wasn't particularly interesting in Shadows. Now that it's been done, they can do something better.

isarai233d ago

Tf? Almost had an aneurysm at the thought of that concept, like what?

And shadows reminds me of something origins is lacking. Virtually every game is lacking something. It is because it is lacking, that it has what it isnt. Funny dichotomy that…

anast235d ago

Origins is a beautiful game made by talented people that got turned into a brutal level-gate fest by the CEOs.

PRIMORDUS235d ago

There are only a few Assassin's Creed games I played. Original, The Ezio Collection, and what I think is probably the best in the series Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the DLC. I'm done with the series, it's the same shit.

isarai233d ago (Edited 233d ago )

Same, enjoyed 1, looooved the ezio trilogy, and 4 was peak, everything after that just sucked. Unity was a great direction but the bugs and how long it took to fix killed it, best parkour system in the series tho

AC Origins is the last great Ubisoft game. Period. This game show how great the Ubisoft story writing once was. Also the meticulous research Ubisoft did in the field of Egyptology. Ubisoft was so pride of their research that it made a separate Touring mode just to showcase all of their study.

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden986d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar986d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter986d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

TheEnigma313986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

HellspawnPR1981986d ago

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman986d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
