Really wish this game had been delayed a couple of months. The final product was pretty damn great. Bad publicity at launch......just killed it. Too bad. It deserves a sequel.

Sam Fisher3175d ago

No it doesnt and especially what happened now.

I knew this was going to happen

Abash3175d ago

Damn so not even a patch for Xbox One X enhancements?

Mr Pumblechook3175d ago

What a cluster!
I feel sorry for all the people who paid extra for special editions with extra content.

Bioware should spend the money so Shepard's story gets a sequel.

senorfartcushion3175d ago

Hi. I want the game. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, does it?

Thanks.

Sam Fisher3175d ago (Edited 3175d ago )

Yes and no, the way it ends is a happily ever after but pulls off a marvel movie after credit scenes, if you can erase the after the credit part then you have a full game

Razzer3175d ago

The game has a solid ending. No cliffhanger.

Christopher3175d ago

No 'cliffhanger' per se, but there are a ton of things left 'open' throughout the entirety of the game. Essentially everything was painted with the design of there being a sequel.

_-EDMIX-_3175d ago

I don't know if that would have helped. I don't know how bad those issues where for this game, like how knows.

Razzer3175d ago

I think if the game released now it would have a high 80 metacritic score. Pure speculation obviously.

_-EDMIX-_3175d ago

well if we are saying delay like money isn't an object, then yes, it would be much better.

andrewsquall3175d ago

@Razzer Yet in its atrocious state at launch it DID get a lot of ridiculous 8/10 scores so...........................

Razzer3175d ago

I haven't read all those reviews, but I'm guessing they overlooked the technical issues.

Cy3175d ago

Agreed. Even at launch it wasn't as bad as a lot of people were making it out to be, but with the patches it became a really good game. I hope they do a sequel one day instead of scraping the Andromeda storyline completely.

NecoTehSergal3175d ago (Edited 3175d ago )

Politically-Correct staff ruined it.
The cringe ruined it
The bad story ruined it

The only thing that is universally praised is the combat, that's it. While the original trilogy had decent graphics, decent gameplay mechanics (Little wonky here and there) but people didn't mind it cause the story and character development and music were awesome.

ME:A had none of that.

MY FACE IS TIRED.

Razzer3175d ago

I enjoyed the story and character development in ME: A. It was certainly on the lighter side, almost like Joss Whedon wrote the thing. But that comes down to personal taste at times. For me, I liked that it dropped the heavy handiness of the originals. And yes, the combat was awesome.

attilayavuzer3175d ago

Character models were pretty average, but the worlds were beautifully designed. Exploring planets was super impressive graphically.

cleft53175d ago

No matter how many delays the game got, it would not have changed that terrible story. On that note, that horrible writer is now working on Destiny 2, look forward to that story being a disappointment as well.

Retard3175d ago

ME:A was horrible compared to any part of the trilogy.

The game was littered with over politicized controversial material, poor writing, lack of diverse enemies, animations of claymation, etc.

Bad game, needs to die.

GameHead853175d ago

Really wish this game never came out, it made Bioware look bad.

OldGuyStillGaming3175d ago

So that's it!
No further patches or updates to fix the campaign.. I was playing a couple days ago and it froze mid mission.
Pretty disappointed to say the least

INMATEofARKHAM3174d ago

Eh, let's not forget the IP suicide ending of ME3

CorndogBurglar3174d ago

The ending of ME3 was not IP suicide. Yes, it sucked. But they could have moved on from that. This game had tons of hype until all the rumors of development problems started about 3 months before release when everyone realized we didn't know ANYTHING about the game that close to release.

A new ME game could have certainly been amazing after ME3. They just botched it. And it had nothing to do with ME3's ending.

Kane223175d ago

i understand a lot of people's anger towards no man's sky..but im also thankful that hello games didn't give up on the game either...EA dropped this game quick and then but mass effect on hold for god knows how long...

porkChop3175d ago

Well, they did in fact update Andromeda numerous times to iron out a lot of the issues. It's not perfect, but I wouldn't put this in the league of NMS. That game was advertised as something it wasn't, and most of the features they showed in trailers and interviews weren't even there at all on launch. That's a bit different from what happened with Andromeda.

MegaMohsi3175d ago

Andromeda gave up after 5 months. NMS had a horrid launch with blatant lies and 1 year later they're still releasing updates. One is a major studio backed by a huge corporation, the other is a small studio and dev team. What's Bioware/EA's excuse for straight up giving up on the game, not even game fixing patches at the very least anymore!

porkChop3175d ago

I agree that they should have continued updating and working on the game. But I'm just saying it's a very different situation.

Sokol3175d ago

One of my favorite RPG series.. I haven't picked up Andromeda yet due to horrible exposure it received since the first day..

However, the previous three game were good. With the first ME remaining my favorite.
I truly hope we see another installment in the series either as a new Trilogy or possible continuation in Mass Effect 4.

Gwiz3175d ago

Then they would need to bring back Casey Hudson.

porkChop3175d ago

They did. He came back to Bioware just recently.

Krysis3175d ago

He's the head of bioware

DillyDilly3175d ago (Edited 3175d ago )

Why do they need Casey Hudson ? Plenty of people wont buy a Bioware game if hes involved in any way . I hope Bioware suffers from here on out for bringing Casey back

INMATEofARKHAM3174d ago

Nope. I got no desire to hear/read more lies from Mr. Hudson.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast465d ago (Edited 465d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul465d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow465d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake465d ago (Edited 465d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro464d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Mass Effect Companion Tier Ranking

One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!

IAMRealHooman507d ago

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast507d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine507d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast507d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman507d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast506d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

IAMRealHooman506d ago

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein542d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics542d ago (Edited 542d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac541d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992542d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX542d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9542d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne542d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast541d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne541d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog541d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay542d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000542d ago (Edited 542d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon541d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT541d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon541d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139542d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein541d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
