Social VR title Rec room adds new cooperative multiplayer quest 'The Curse of the Crimson Cauldron'.
VR chat and game platform Rec Room is shutting down on June 1, 2026. The closure will come precisely a decade after the title launched.
It had potential, but was lazily implemented. The disc golf game, for instance, had me dreaming of finally having a full VR sequel to sports champions disc golf on PS3... the most accurate disc golf sim ever made. This version, however, flat out sucked. The physics were all wrong, the controls sucked... it was a huge disappointment. After trying that, I never looked back.
I mean there were so many different games available over the years. Sure, it wasn't anywhere close to the most realistic games out there, but they were good fun.
