Thank goodness we have a leader who isnt scared to make tough decisions and doesnt force out bad products. I loved crackdown but this one needs more variety, not just destruction.

It desperately needed to be delayed, it looked bad, but the Xbox One X launch lineup is looking bleak, not a lot of games...

All the time in the world couldn't save this game now it should have came out in 2016 & even then it would have looked out dated & now that it has been moved to spring 2018 it's going to come out after the new God Of War & it's gonna look like an Xbox 360 game in comparison!!

On the contrary, the game is building such negative hype that it's now in a damn if you do and damn if you don't.
If the game is average then Ms will receive tons of critics about not being able to deliver and how 1st party suck.
But on the other hand, even if the game is good it will need some 9 and 10 just to meet ppl expectations.
Unfortunately for Microsoft, Media and reviewers are not in love with them like Naughty dogs and Blizzard so a 9 is pretty much out of the question.

Author wrote this story as if he has any facts. Literally has no knowledge of why they delayed it or how it will be improved further.

MS should start revealing games then simply put "Console and Release Date TBA. MS also reserves the right to cancel games without any warning."

It sounds more like the multi player cloud power destruction needs refining.

Oh yeah because all the articles since E3 2017 have constantly been talking about how "this game seriously needs to be delayed and then it will be absolutely fine and worthy of being called a current gen game".

The game doesn't look like it has serious optimisation problems or horrendous glitches or crashes. Its just overall underwhelming and the only thing that will fix that is going right back to the drawing board and throwing out everything.

Well, there's always Cuphead and that retro game at e3 with the cool trailer and sort of blade runner theme???? it's name has escaped me. Either way 2017 won't go down as the best year for xbox players. For exclusives were down to 'indies' ?

Crackdown 3 was grossly hit with negativity, and already not going to meet sales expectations, it only makes matters worse by hitting the game with... more negativity.

Whatever sales this game might have made as it limped across the finish line in 2017, are definitely diminished come 2018.

Now they are dumping more $$ into the game and i hope its not to change how it looks... Again.

Most xbox guys were like "theres no way they would show so much footage of cd3 and the mp not be ready by launch (2017)." This game has been questionable since other ms first partys in the last year have been delayed, canceled, and not recieved well (from fans, critics, and saled pov). So who in their right mind didnt see this getting delayed or canceled from miles away...

If this game starts to remotely make ms question its worth and its already hemorging $$ it will get axed! No offense to ms, but it seems from a business pov,they need to leave 1st party games to nintendo and sony.

Wouldn’t get carried away (‘save’), but there has been plenty of concerns surrounding the game since E3, at the very least it gives them an opportunity to try and address some of those.

I don't really see delays as a positive, to me it says that the project was/is badly managed.
From the E3 showing I thought it looks good, a good fun new Crackdown game having been a fan of the first one, never played the second one.
If the multiplayer is causing the main problems then just scrap it or release it at a later date than the SP game.
Internet speeds nowadays are not as good as predicted a few years ago, I'm not fussed with this cloud bullshit, internet connections and speeds are just too inconsistent for it to be a working reality IMO.

If it seems better to delay it until 2018 then it will best to delay it until 2019 or maybe cancel it :D

Well I'm glad, I mean it literally just looked like Crackdown... sort of expected next level things with this one. So maybe it'll stand out now.

Only thing sure here is that other than forza, there wont be a single AAA semi exclusive for xbox in the whole year!

Bit early to claim the delay has saved the game. Maybe wait until a release date has been announced, Spring 2018 has a lot of big titles releasing and for all we know Crackdown could end up releasing a week after RDR 2.

Not sure anything but a delay here would have been a good thing. It was clear that the game was not what they wanted and certainly not where they wanted it to be. Not to mention we had yet to see any of the cloud destruction features they mentioned. With Scalebound canceled, this being canceled would have been bad, but this game coming at the launch of the X1X and being a dumpster fire would have been ever worse. AT least now the developers have time to make it better and if not, by the time it drops, folks likely won't even care any longer. Sometimes a quiet death, during a busy release window is just the thing.

now they have like, cuphead and super lucky's tale to show off a 4k console though....

I don't think that delaying it will magically fix the mess that this game is.

Of course is a good thing. They are sinking and this was just another nail on the coffin. Amazing stuff.

Microsoft delayed the game, because next year we are gonna get many clouds and that will allow to reach 16k rez and 120 frames. The cloud tech is out of this world.

Delay it all you want. From the game play that I have seen, it's still going to be a mediocre-average game. You would have to start from scratch at this point to improve it any further from getting mediocre review scores upon release. I'm calling it now, it will be cancelled eventually.

To those who inevitably will label me a fanboy, I never had any hope for this new Uncharted game either. Seemed like a small DLC project that got a little too carried away.

Just give us the first two on BC already cuz now this means they are just blowing smoke up our asses like before with scalebound and it will most likely be cancelled as well. I'm sure the game will be better for it. There's plenty of other games to play in the few months of delay. There's enough half baked titles out there so a little more patience will serve us better I think. This should be a lesson learned for all companies to hype games that are far from release though.

When the game delayed last year (from 2016 to 2017)and with official reason as "MS: we don't need the game this year" (Aaron Green). People claimed this game among other delayed games (sod2, sot) were saved for scorpio launch.. Then this e3 only this titles (from Arron's don't need this game list from 2016, other than halo war 2 in Feb) got a first solid date and then another delay to an uncertain date... I don't have much problem with the delay itself but please get your shit together and stopping taking nonsense and overhyping stuffs (like it is only about boom and most ambitious mp in history) how about just simply marketing as we put our heart in the game for the fans with solid and over the top fun experiences (even though it is still marketing pr at least it doesn't sound talking from your ass with no good result to back it up).

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
