Hellblade PS4 vs Pro Graphics Comparison + Frame-Rate Test

Ninja Theory is back with a beautiful-looking game - and it's got a really interesting PS4 Pro implementation. Can a game that looks this good really run at 60fps on Sony's 'supercharged' console?

Looks amazing on the standard PS4 which is good news for me, a PS4 Slim owner.

badz1493170d ago

kinda weird they didn't lock it at 30fps though for original PS4 and 60fps off on Pro

I wonder for us Slim owners if we hook up our system to a 4K tv. Would it output a minor to minimal detail difference from the 4PRO version with the tvs own internal scaling device.

I guess what I'm asking if games like these are 1080p max 1440p on 4PRO then upscaled to 4K. Is the difference huge enough to warrant the $100 costs difference between Slim and the Pro?

Not sure about that B1uBurneR BUT! I am sure that if your going to get HORIZON ZERO DAWN and have a 4K tv that supports HDR then that game alone makes it worth the extra $100.

Even 1080-ti can run it at 4K60. Are they using DX12 or some other API.

neocores80553170d ago

This is about the ps4/ps4 pro not pc.. Also the 1080ti is almost an 800$ card thats 2 ps4 pros or 3 to 4 normal PS4 lol

Bigpappy3169d ago

If you watch the darn video you would know that DF is saying the game May need better optimization since the 1080ti can even run it at a high frame rate with 4K res. That came from the video. Stop defending when there in to attach. I am not like you. I always try to be relevant..

Boring. Go chat about ram somewhere.

Is it?

Just to note - this is a *VERY* demanding game so it's no surprise that the resolution had to drop hard to reach 60fps.

I've been testing this on a Titan Xp 2017 model - I don't think there is a faster single GPU solution available and 4K60 is simply off the table (even using medium level settings). First game I've encountered that won't hold 60fps at 4K, actually. Clearly, it's not as well optimized as it could be.

The biggest issue with the console release is the lack of a frame-rate cap. Capped at 30fps, this would look great on the Pro but unlocked, unstable frame-rates are awful. At least the 60fps mode seems relatively consistent.

So much about 1080ti can run it at 4k/60, bigpappy

Thanks butcher but I think I said exactly the same thing just a short a virgin. I just assumed people listen to the video

Bigpappy3169d ago

oops. I hate when that happens. I meant can't

Imalwaysright3170d ago (Edited 3170d ago )

Between 40 and 50 fps at ultra 4k with a gtx 1080ti

bluefox7553170d ago (Edited 3170d ago )

Bitter much? Also, you're wrong.

Allsystemgamer3170d ago

What do you mean "even". The 1080ti is a top of the line card.

......

Titan Xp and 1080ti aren't the same cards. Titan is also faster than 1080ti. So, if Titan CAN'T run this game at 4k60 at medium setting neither can 1080ti.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Review | What's It Like In 2024?

Admittedly, Hellblade: Senua's Saga is far from perfect and won't be a game for everyone, but now with a multitude of accessibility options it has made itself much more palatable for a wider audience, and with constant sale prices between $2-$4, Hellblade: Senua's Saga is too good to pass up for a unique experience that has stood the test of time and will do so once more with its even more robust and epic sequel.

The only thing epic about this “game” is how longnit took to make.

90sGamingWasBetter580d ago

The Hellblade games looked nice but they were essentially walking simulators with a minimal amount of combat tracked on.

willykyu252d ago

At long last, it’s about time they upgraded it !
I didn’t like hellblade 2 at all, which lost all its mystery and originality in this graphically superb but extremely boring sequel. But I loved the first one. And I was pretty annoyed it was stuck on ps4 version on ps5. Bugs and didn’t run that well.
Now I’m going to play it all over again !!! In its nicest version on PlayStation.
