Ubisoft's Skull & Bones will mix it's story with multiplayer and doesn't look to be adding single-player in the traditional sense. Expect PvP focus

Sail into the new season: Eye of the Beast. Face the colossal Kraken and command the formidable new large ship — the Corvette.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "In a year that was to a large extent carried by the game developers of Japan (and to some extent China), western games can rejoice that there was at least one category they managed to dominate: that of Most Disappointing. Sometimes disappointment comes from high expectations met with something middling, other times it comes from middling expectations met with something terrible. This year managed to deliver a bit of both, so either way there was enough disappointment to go around."
Why not mention the 19,000 Steam games of which 80% weren't good enough to merit "success" on the platform?

This sounds like a great update. Today, Ubisoft announced the launch of Skull and Bones’ third season, “Into the Dragon’s Wake” in which players will face the formidable fleets of Li Tian Ning and Commander Zhang.
Good
Urgh...for f*** sake Ubisoft. We're sick and tired of this multiplayer/online focused crap in your games
The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Steep, The Crew, For Honor, Skulls and Bones, even Beyond Good and Evil 2 looks like it's aiming for that aswell
Even other games where it wasn't that bad and single player was still a decent option like Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed Unity and Rayman Origins/Legends with it's co-op focus it felt like it was heading to this. It's like they think that because AC is still single player that it balances everything out even though most of us are all burnt out from AC.
Makes me scared for Beyond Good and Evil 2 as it doesn't even look like the same IP we fell in love with, it seems like another big idea they came up with but obviously didn't want to risk it on a new IP so it's finally given them a reason to fund a sequel...so they can use it as a launching pad to put another idea forward.
Rayman 4 (3D), Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, An actual Pirates game which is a single player and is like the cancelled Pirates of the Caribbean game...these are the games we need.
" like Call of Duty when you play campaign and you go online, [and you get something very different]"
You really don't...after an hour or two playing online non stop you've experienced everything the game has to offer.
Required Online means "pass" for me.
No single player offline story no buy. F the stupid online multiplayer crap.
I think Ubisoft is one of the best companies in the industry, but they really know how to make their games kind of unappealing with their focus on MP.
