Sonic should stay 2D

Nearly every 2D Sonic game is great, while the opposite can be said of the 3D iterations. Why is that? More importantly however, why do they keep being made after so much negative evidence to discourage the attempt?

There hasn't been a good Sonic game since the 1994. Only half of Generations was good and that was the 2d levels.

And even then Sonic looked horrible on those levels because they designed everything for moron Sonic (modern Sonic) first.
Classic Sonic in Generations comes off as a tiny Sonic running around a level too big for him
https://upload.wikimedia.or...
https://static.gamespot.com... Look at the size of him to that Moto Bug.
Even the diagonal Springs he hits are awkwardly too big for him. Also, what the hell is up with the fact they clearly focused on Mega Drive related stuff for Classic Sonic and when he jumps its that horrible Master System/Gameboy Advance game sound effect.
I feel sorry for people that think Sonic Generations was a 9/10 game because it was still garbage to me. What must those people think of Sonic 06 lol.

I was about to say the same exact thing lol yeah 1994 was a LONG time ago! I don't understand the Sonic love?? He has like 20 shitty games and 4 good ones.... not a good ratio

No thanks, i love my 3D Sonic games. Sonic fans just need to move with the times instead of letting nostalgia hold them back all of the time.

People act like all 2D Sonic games were great and all 3D ones were bad. Actually, a lot of 2D Sonic games aren't that great at all. I would rather play Sonic Adventure 1,2, Shuffle, Heroes, Colours, Generations etc over any 2D Sonic game.
