Nearly every 2D Sonic game is great, while the opposite can be said of the 3D iterations. Why is that? More importantly however, why do they keep being made after so much negative evidence to discourage the attempt?

The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.

Game Rant Writes "Sonic Forces is now five years old, and while it has plenty of flaws, there are things the 2017 release handles well enough to affect future games."

Sega aims to release 2D Sonic games alongside the 3D ones each year, but it's questionable how the company plans to continue this trend.
Yes. Why yes he should.
Nah
There hasn't been a good Sonic game since the 1994. Only half of Generations was good and that was the 2d levels.
Ya think?
No thanks, i love my 3D Sonic games. Sonic fans just need to move with the times instead of letting nostalgia hold them back all of the time.
People act like all 2D Sonic games were great and all 3D ones were bad. Actually, a lot of 2D Sonic games aren't that great at all. I would rather play Sonic Adventure 1,2, Shuffle, Heroes, Colours, Generations etc over any 2D Sonic game.
