*Excited Sigh* there, corrected it for you.

Nodoze3236d ago

I for one am excited to see if this is true. The real question on everyone's mind though....WHAT is Rocksteady working on?? While I welcome a new Batman game, I would really like to see what the team that brought us the amazing Arkham series is up to.

Please choose another DC hero, i love batman but its time to make something else. I mean you have superman, wonder woman, green lantern, flash, ill even take a cyborg game over another batman game.

extermin8or3235d ago

The issue they have is most other dc universe characters well known enough to be successful are pretty overpowered. Makes a video game revolving around them harder.

Gaming4Life19813235d ago

I don't think that is why but if it is then that is a lame excuse. Plenty of games have overpowered characters and good games were made around them.

They need to choose another character to make a game off and making games is never easy.

Superman is basically in permanent God mode....

And yet batman fans see no problem with the "realistic and relatable" batman beating him up. Please, Batman is far more OP than any other hero. You can put batman vs anyone and the answer will always be batman. Any discussion about such boils down to "batman is smart and he'd come up with something." Batman vs spiderman? spidey sense trumps preptime, but batman would come up with something to negate spidey sense. vs flash? flash can move at the speed of light and can take out batman hundreds of times over before batman can even blink, but batman would come up with something. vs wonder woman? she's basically superman without a kryptonite weakness batman can exploit, but batman would come up with something. This "come up with something" power is just so OP it's insane. every superhero or villan around him gets nerfed and their IQ drops by about 40-50 points to make sure batman comes out on top. all thanks to the cognitive dissonance of his fans praising him for being both realistic and unbeatable. It's so bad DC has to protect batman from his own fans by making sure that batman never truly beats superman. He's always 100% dependent on superman holding back and/or has a bunch of help. Because when Superman hold back less... well: http://media.comicbook.com/...
Those OP characters you brought up, they're not fighting two- face in an alley way, they fighting guys like gorilla grodd, mongol, sinestro, ares. Think about it, someone just asks for a bit more variety than just constant batman and you jump into "it has to be just batman" mode. The irony is logic seemingly never applies to batman when talking to his fans but he's praised as being a character based on logic and reason.

@yeahright42 I see your point however his coming up with something is what creates the gameplay, the others losers are inbuilt, batman actually has to get the stuff to make whatever gadget he then has to use it and all throughout he is vulnerable. Take arkham knight-superman could have destroyed thae tanks without the car, taken on the entire army with on arm and found scarecrow with x ray vision in minutes. He frequently gets I jure or has to retreat and rethink his strategy and devise a new plan or put a different plan in action. The others don't need perfectly executed plans that is the difference. Also spiderman's spidery sense doesn't work the way you are describing it its like an early warning system that something isn't right/danger is near however it doesn't alert him as to what that is. It's not like he's having premonitions. So batman would be left to deal with his agility and untrained fighting techniques (he improvisers but hasn't actually been trained how to fight and consequently gets smashed about a fair bit) and his webbing which batman already has the gadgets to deal with but would likely want some for himself to incorporate into a new gadget/weapon lol As for wonderwoman she isn't as strong as superman and I'm sure has a weaknes? Don't know what it is but she must have one!

So...we "know" nothing because nothing's been confirmed. JFC, terrible article.

Asylum is my personal favourite. City a close second but Asylum just felt tighter, exactly what it needed to be, no more no less.

Batman: Arkham Shadow is another VR game players do not want

Geoff Keighley revealed a new Batman Arkham game is in the works to be released later this year, with a first look at gameplay happening at Summer Game Fest. Unfortunately for just about everyone, Batman: Arkham Shadow is a VR-only game exclusive to the Meta Quest 3. The community reaction hasn’t been great.

What a bunch of nonsense.
Gamers saw 0 seconds of actual gameplay and the author of this "article" says they don't want the game.

Friendlygamer763d ago

Don't even know what is a meta quest 3

abstractel763d ago (Edited 763d ago )

Troll post?

On topic, this could be good but no way to know until it's out. Glad that it's Quest 3 exclusive so it doesn't have to run on the Quest 2. If it turns out to be good, I look forward to a eventual PCVR or PSVR 2 port.

Friendlygamer763d ago (Edited 763d ago )

I mean, I know what a vr headset is but I've never heard of this one, I thought the big one was the Sony one. I have a friend who believed Microsoft hadn't released a new Xbox console to compete with the ps5 because series s and series x sound a lot like x and s, that's how apathetic people can be I guess

I see the industry is once again trying to bash VR. I honestly think most game companies don't want to have to cater to VR and are doing whatever they can to bury it. Which is a shame because when done right, VR games are absolutely amazing. Half Life Alyx being one of the most obvious examples. But too many people are trying to see it fail. Most of the big companies don't want to spend the extra energy on it. It's much easier to just churn out yet another call of duty that they know will make a ton of money, which from a business standpoint is understandable, but unfortunately they are preventing the evolution of a new way to experience gaming. When I see an article like this, it just makes me think that there's a real effort to cause VR to fail. Has this guy even played the game? Has he even seen any actual gameplay from it? For all he knows it could be amazing. I think the only complaint I have is that it's coming only to meta quest 3 and not PSVR2, which seems like an odd decision. Sony is dropping the ball with PSVR2 so bad. It's a great headset but they simply aren't making any effort to support it. And I think it all boils down to big companies not wanting to put the effort towards VR. But Sony needs to push harder too. How Half Life Alyx hasn't shown up or even been hinted at for PSVR2 since the headset came out is beyond me. Sony should be moving mountains to convince Valve to port the game to PS5 and PSVR2. That is the biggest chance Sony has at convincing people of what VR can do. It's sad really. I love VR games. Half Life Alyx is one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. And it wouldn't have been possible any other way. I truly hope these people don't cause us to lose out on such a promising tech. But articles like this certainly don't help. And it's especially frustrating when clearly this person hasn't even tried the game yet.

if I were a massive company I wouldn't make VR games either. It's so much risk, first you have to nail making a game for VR, which we've seen is really hard to do. Secondly, the vr market is very fractured considering how small it is. Quite a decent amount of headsets for such a small space, all which have different specs, so then you gotta pick the right one. 3rd is needs to sell an astronomical amount relative to the install base for a AAA VR game to pay off. Too much if's and risks and not worth the effort.
