As console players are wrapping up their time with the Destiny 2 Public Beta, the reception of developer Bungie’s appetizer has been… underwhelming. Returning players expected an atonement for the game’s past mistakes, but instead felt they’d received an omen of things to come. Specifically, more of the same things.

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.
I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.
Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.
Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.
I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.
Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.
I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

This story is being dramatic. It's gonna be great at 60fps on PC and everybody will forget they were worried at all.
The things that Destiny did well felt pretty same-y. That's fine. The gunplay, environment design, and strike were all good. I wanted to see more from the beta/demo though. This game could prove to have significant improvements, but it was hard to tell from it. I liked the added/changed abilities for the classes, but that's just one thing. The enemy from the last cutscene seemed super lame.
Looked great, played great.. And personally didn't get any network errors which is welcome. It will be similar to Destiny 1, as in the Internet is going to cry its poor little eyes out about Destiny not being the game they wanted, while millions of other people quietly enjoy an awesome game.
lol of course is underwhelming, it looks almost the freaking same as the first one and yet Bungie calls it Destiny 2!?, and don't come to tell me that sequels are meant to look the same as first one nonsense!, just go and look Uncharted 1 to Uncharte2, hell even in Uncharted 3 is better looking, when creating sequels these sequels are meant to look and play better than the first iteration.
This is a badly written opinion piece. He is totally ignoring the reality coming at him. 30FPS AT 4K LOOKS FLAWLESS! I realize I'm in the minority with that setup but yeah. There is more content coming in PVE than PVP and I wish people would tune into IGN for that coverage.
