Tackling the absurdity of "This small part of an older build means the entire game is ruined!"

PlayStation has scaled back expectations for Bungie after reassessing Destiny 2 development costs, highlighting the risks tied to live-service games.
Honestly Thank Goodness!! Yet another good sign of a possibility of returning to what made them great and undoing Jim Tyans trend chasing love service gamble. Still gotta wait and see just what direction they're going but this is a good sign in my book that they're not betting it all on live service anymore
It may take a while but maybe they are finally learning. Good! Now stop with the live service crap.
They say this and then immediately release news of the Horizons co-op game that will definitely be a Live Service game.

Patch notes for Update 9.5.0.5, the one about Equilibrium fixes and more, are now available.

A new survey shows Destiny 2 is considering adding Sparrow Racing League, unvaulted campaigns, NPC sidekicks, new PvP and Gambit modes, and much more.
Exactly. Most of the articles I have read are going off based on just a beta that is from an older build without the core systems in place. People are just jumping the gun without even playing the game in a finished form. Even at the current time the actual game is very different from this beta as announced by Bungie. The beta is just for testing servers, matchmaking, connectivity, ammo economy, weapon balance and class balance so they can make adjustments for the full game. It does not represents the full game in any way.
In the full game we will not start with max levels and abilities. We will most likely not start with the new subclasses. We wont find exotics lying on a rack in the tower. There will be a leveling system, progression, loot drops, lost sector dungeon, sidequests, four worlds to explore instead of just Nessus, the full story campaign, the raid, several strikes, vendors, NPCs, 15 PvP maps, several exotic weapons/armor, various weapons, etc. etc. This beta is barely 2% of the actual game.
Honestly if this was from an early build then the final product should be great. The graphics showcased in the Homecoming and Strike were more than just a little bump, especially showcased in the Homecoming mission. I was thoroughly impressed by the added scope and narrative just from this beta so I hope they keep that caliber throughout the story and have each Strike feel more like a raid as the one did in the beta.
I like PvE but the multiplayer is not fun imo
Reading the responses to practically anything related to this game is making loose more and more faith in humanity. Even the simplest of concepts escapes people. A beta is a small portion of the game to test back-end support of a game, not to give you accurate depiction of the final product.
Just keep your expectations in check, Bungie is exceptionally good at over-promising and under-delivering. People wanted raid matchmaking? We'll do 'guided raids'. People wanted changes to Crucible? We'll make it 4v4.
Wait for reviews, or Gamefly it and see if it's your cup of tea. You'll thank me later.
