If you thought the Switch's voice chat system was going to be simple and intuitive, you're wrong.

And Nintendo wants you to pay for this underdeveloped service

Erik73573217d ago (Edited 3217d ago )

No they dont, your not paying for this.....we have no idea what service your going to be paying for when it does arrive. Obviously if Nintendo wanted you to pay for this underdeveloped service you would be paying for it right now wouldnt you?

When they do have a paid service it will be better and it will be doing some of the same main things PSN does for it at half the cost

mcstorm3217d ago

Erik7357 I get what you are saying. Just grabbed the app and it looks like its still in beta mode at the moment and I'm good with that as there is plenty of time before we are charged for using Nintendo online and time of the app to improve.

People will kick off but at the end of the day it is what it is at the moment. I'm going to give it a try when I get home and see what its like for my self.

" it will be doing some of the same main things PSN does for it at half the cost"

I mean how? From what I've read about their features they're not even doing some of the same stuff that was happening with PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 back in 2006 so how would they match PlayStation Network in 2017?

Are they getting rid of the stupid phone garbage?

@Erik

"...it will be doing some of the same main things PSN does for it at half the cost"

LOL it will be doing less than what the PS3 is capable right now for $20 more because PSN on the PS3 is free!

Good thing there is still 6 months minimum for people to provide feedback so they can develop it further instead of being a sourpuss on the internet.

_-EDMIX-_3217d ago

Something is definitely wrong if they're even in the beta stages of an online infrastructure when the concept has been done since 2002

If they need help in feedback in releasing a feature that technically should be at launch it definitely worries me about what's going on in this company for god sakes we're trying to help this company simply meet 2002 standards

I mean that would be like Microsoft releasing a brand new console yet telling people they need to have 6 months of feedback in terms of a messaging system.

I mean that doesn't give me great confidence in what's going on at this company because this isn't really something that needs to be taking this long , why are they struggling with something like this?

rainslacker3216d ago

Maybe take a lesson from PS and XBox fans and fight against paying for this stuff now, and maybe Nintendo will not bother trying to charge you for it.

Maybe make them make a half decent service before they charge you, not the other way around.

_-EDMIX-_3217d ago

EXACTLY

this is what's so worrisome and pathetic about this, the way I'm looking at it I just don't have any plans to pay for such a service because it's sounding like they're struggling with the most basic features.

I'm probably just going to play the local multiplayer with friends I just don't see any use in paying for online that's going to be garbage.

PhoenixUp3218d ago

It's not just the app. Nintendo's entire approach to online gaming needs work

EddieNX 3217d ago

i'm super excited for splatoon 2 tmoz and no bitch ass app is gunna stop that

_-EDMIX-_3217d ago

Is there any word on if all Switch games will have local multiplayer? ie Nintendo's party games like Mario Kart Smash Brothers Animal Crossing?

I mean with the switch being a portable this is how I've played DS and 3DS games anyway.

For the most part I mainly play these multiplayer games with friends that are physically in front of me anyway.

EddieNX 3217d ago (Edited 3217d ago )

Yh there's no download play, but Switch's wireless and LAN capabilities are in a league of their own atm, on par with DS, 3DS but you can use 8-12 TV's if u want and it works the same. You can do 8 Switches local on a train journey etc.

_-EDMIX-_3217d ago

ok, I'm fine with that then cause that is what I"m use to with 3DS and DS. I just don't see me playing with others online.

superchiller3217d ago

Online play for the Switch is going to be a joke, the company really has no clue how to design gaming hardware and network infrastructure.

'Splatoon 3’s' Inkopolis DLC Might Be Nostalgic, But It’s Totally Shallow

o matter what the reasoning is behind Splatoon 3’s lack of content and substance in the first half of its paid expansion, Wave 1: Inkopolis is certainly not worth any fan’s money and should have always been viewed as a small bonus to tide fans off from what’s still to come.
