Maybe if they put a phone on it too, I might consider it, but I just think this is too unnecessary! Let me give you a history of Nintendo handhelds. First we had the gameboy which took a whopping 4 batteries was huge and black and white, then they upgraded the gameboy by releasing the gameboy pocket which was a smaller version of gameboy. It was a decent upgrade, but totally unecessary since right around the corner was.... The gameboy color, This was the true next gameboy and was not an upgrade from original. It played original but also had its own games which were graphically better. No upgrade on the gameboy color.... no next we got another new system... Gameboy advance. GBA had 3 upgrades in its career... first one was the most necessary being the SP which is the one that most people owned. It had a screen that lit up (finally) and actually had a rechargeable battery! It was a necessary upgrade for the GBA. Then we had the Nintendo DS. We all know what a ds does, so lets just say it improved upon the GBA by alot and was a great addition to the handheld console lineup. Then we had an upgrade that was not really necessary, but was for the better which was DS lite. Most people bought DS after the lite came out and it was sleeker and nicer. It required you to play with a back lit screen no matter what (you cant run it with no light like the original ds). But still the upgrade was decent and became the norm. Like all handhelds before it, the ds and ds lite were backwards compatible with the previous generation of handheld games.

Now fast forward to 2009. DSi comes out. How do I pronounce this anyways? Is it DS (eye)or is it pronounced like the wii? (Dee Ess EE) Either way they get rid of the GBA slot which is used for many games. They add an internet browser which I actualyl already have for my DS lite. They add MP3 playback which many people can already do on their DS lite! They put in a camera which is just like any camera on your everyday cell phone. And waht does the camera do exactly? It isnt used for games is it? Anyways, the point is that this thing is not necessary. It is nice, sleek, and everything the DS lite should have been, but it doesnt do anything extra for me that I cant already do with a few bootleg cartridges. Overall I think it hurts the gameplay experience. With no GBA slot I cant play many DS games that require or allow GBA slot funtionality like guitar hero or pokemon. Definately not an upgrade I am spending money on. I want more guitar hero on tour games! Not a DS with no GBA slot. The GBA slot does alot more than just play GBA games. Without it, many gamers will be left with useless games. I think its unecessary and not buying it. It does look pretty though, I will give it that!
