"The Pokémon series is one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises, and its glory is well deserved. Pokémon Red & Blue were released in the States on the original Game Boy in 1996, and the series has been cherished by poké-maniacs ever since. The brand was so popular that it spawned TV shows, movies, a trading card game, and a boatload of spin-off video games. Over the last 20 years, the mainline Pokémon series has released over 20 unique titles on Nintendo’s handheld platforms. The Pokémon franchise is unstoppable — year after year Game Freak’s masterpiece is reiterated and built upon. I have always held the Pokémon series near and dear to my heart, and while I think new features like Alola forms and Super Training are unique assets to the franchise, I want more. I want a reinvention of Pokémon — with the series making its huge leap forward to the home console place on Nintendo Switch, I can’t help big have a handful of features in mind that I would love to happen. let me explain." -- Nintendo Enthusiast

The Nintendo DS has some amazing titles available. Here are some of the best nostalgic games that every child of the DS era grew up playing.
I enjoyed both Rush games, I did think the action was sometimes too fast to see what was coming up in terms of hazards though, which meant replaying the same stage a bunch of times, other than that they were enjoyable, good special stages, 3D sections and bosses for the most part.
DS is one of the best consoles of all time. Such a rich library of software
Zelda were all glorious on it.

Please dont get me wrong your opinion is yours and that's cool. Though my opinion I think everything you said will ruin what pokemon is. If you want this kinda pokemon game just go play no no kuni on ps3 everything you asked for is in that game.
Agree with better story and animated cut scenes. I don't think they should change the core formula of the Pokemon games though. It makes it very accessible even if you haven't played a Pokemon game in 10 years. If anything the combat system is the one thing that should NEVER be changed.
New Starter Types - NO!!!!!
No More Random Encounters - NO!!!!!!
Better Storytelling - Ugh......okay that all depends on the Evil Organizations True Motive and Goals are and how the Main Legendary are to the Pokemon World whether they are their to save or destroy or create.
Animated Cut Scenes - I don't care if they do or don't. The Switch can just use In-Game models like 3DS games does.
Co-operative Play - They done this before. With Generation 5 and have been doing this with Battle Frontier, Tower, Maison, Tree and any Post Game Battle Only areas. Where you can connect with local friends or friends and battle with them against CPU.
Revamped Battle System - Ugh this is something that happens every generation.
Stop trying to westernize Pokemon.
