I think it is unlikely that the PS3 will see "Mass Effect"; however, it is not impossible. If you check the trademarks, "Mass Effect" is owned by BioWare, not Microsoft. Microsoft may be the publisher for the Xbox 360 version of the game, but that doesn't mean that they've locked up publishing rights for all "new-gen" consoles.

It is likely that any BioWare game for the PS3 will be a different game ... Maybe a new "Jade Empire" or someone else's IP (let's not forget that BioWare does contract work for other publishers as well) but more likely a new IP.

As for MSG4 ... "Metal Gear Solid" games eventually move to other platforms. I have no doubt that "Metal Gear Solid 4" will eventually be ported over to the Xbox 360. My heart says Wii; but the differences in the conosles make the Xbox 360 a much more likely second home for the game.

Wich happens to be the leading format so guess what. Dont be suprised if microsoft is trying to push a Blu-Ray addon down your throat in a year or two and second

there is a difference, if MS is the publisher of this game they have put money into it (like GOW) and would have say over where it goes, ie not to the ps3. MGS4 on the other hand, sony is not the publisher and the publisher/developer can do what they like.

This is the dumbest ps3 rumor yet... Can anybody show me a time when either Microsoft, sony or nintendo has ever publish a game for their own console, and then later that same game was ported over to a rival console? Obviously I am referring to the "Mass Effect" rumor and nothing else.

As a former PS fan myself I must say that it is quite obvious that MicroSoft has A LOT better games then Sony this generation. C'mon now it's not even a question. Just because it's published by Microsoft doesn't mean they can't go to someone like Sony to publish a PS3 version of their game. Though, they might just be working on an exclusive PS3 title rather than porting. Why port a 360 game when they can create a more powerful engine on the PS3?

Who cares? If the 360 and the PS3 get it, that means more people have the option to enjoy this game. If not, and you want to play this game, get a 360. This isn't worth going into a huge debate over. If MGS4 comes to the 360, great. If not, and I want to play it enough, I'll have to get a PS3. Simple as that.

Kinda sad how this spawned a rumor because this is one of the lamest rumors i've heard yet. Not only is Microsoft publishing Mass Effect, aren't they funding some of it? Like if you said something like Bioshock i'd make a bit more sense because its being published by a 3rd party developer, but the fact is, Microsoft is publishing this game and they wont let go of it. As someone else said, it'd be the same as a rumor of Gears of War or Crackdown coming to the PS3, its not going to happen. It's possible that sequels will be multiplatform, but there is no way Mass Effect will be coming out for the PS3.

The PS3 will never see Gears, Crackdown, Alan Wake, Mass Effect, etc. because MS has secured exclusive rights to these games in exchange for massive funding. It will have to be another Bioware game, like Fallout 3. The PS3 isn't selling better than the 360. During the same launch period before the 1st of the year, the 360 sold 1.5 million worldwide while the PS3 sold 1.1 million worldwide. The NPD numbers for U.S. only put the PS3 sales during this same time at about 80,000 more than the 360. However, Sony ignored Europe. You have to account for worldwide numbers when you look at total market share, not specifically one region. Additionally, PS3s began sitting on store shelves collecting dust only a few weeks after launch. It took until March until you could readily find a 360. Sorry man, the 'king of consoles' is off to a very bad start.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.
