That's cool. I mean I still have the original consoles but they're in another country and been in a box for almost a decade. Nothing last forever. Good to know there's newer options. Although iirc the last Sega micro console kinda sucked from a sound and emulation basis.

I like the idea of these and how the consoles and joypads & joystick bring back all the nostalgia feels. But not sure how much time I would actually spend playing them - especially the Atari games which I think would have novelty value but are now so old might not be able to hold my attention.

Oh - I love that Golden Axe is there but it's criminal that the Sega Megadrive/Genesis doesn't have Streets of Rage!

Well damn... maybe the Retron guys can make a Retro VCS for Atari. Having 3 cart slots for 2600/7800, 5200 and Jaguar cart support.

So....was this the Atari console that was suppose to happen? Sorry but as cool as nostalgia is...Atari 2600 is just was too old to be any fun now.

Klonoa-dreamtraveler3249d ago

no lol if you read on the articles they said it was a new pc technology based console and that it was't a retro box.

gangsta_red3249d ago

Yea, i read those and then I saw this and thought this can't be it. Unless it's new PC tech to play old Atari games....

darthv723249d ago

2600 and its simplicity may get old but it never loses its fun. FUN is timeless and there for all ages.

letsa_go3249d ago

I never played the 2600, but the games all look like ass to me. Which games are actually fun?

darthv723249d ago

Yars revenge, kaboom, breakout, demon attack, pitfall, combat, spiderman, superman, empire strikes back... lots of em.

Angeljuice3249d ago

Keystone Kapers was my favourite. More sophisticated than most 2600 games.

These have been around for for many years now (in the UK at least)

The Mega drive/Genasis even though can play your old cartridge games. It's not worth buying as the emulation used in these things are not very good. Not sure about the atari one.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing15d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9215d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit15d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing15d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9215d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
