It'll sell a good amount. It's not going be mind blowing sales, but I think MS will be content with the numbers.

It will sell well the first month because if diehards. After that, it will slip down to last place due to its price. A mid-gen $500 console is not going have much impact on sales or market share.

Yes, but i doubt as well as the Pro (which is 1 in 5). It's more expensive and the less sold system so 1:5 seems a bit of a stretch to me. You never know though. I'll pick one up to join my Pro and have a better excuse to play Xbox again at the same time.

Crackdown will probably be my first game on it. Not the best looking game from what we've seen (I like it, but not as pretty as many nowadays) but I just enjoyed the crazy action of the original. Even if it's not exactly thought intensive--it's the true Michael Bay of video games, CoD at least gets an interesting character now and again... Crackdown's narrator is the only person worth a damn in it but I let it slide because of the explosions and bullets flying everywhere. At times it feels like a 3d schmup with the way the action can get over the top now and again (a dozen guys shooting you from everywhere and you're just sort of in the middle of it shooting and jumping/evading like "whatever" until you almost die and have to go heal for a sec anyways).

It will sell to the audience its intended for. Hardcore gamers who are looking for the best performance on their console. Because its intended for hardcore gamers not to many people here will buy it but I will let you know how it is when it comes out 👌

And it is not necessary. MS sees its future on PC market. It only needs to convince developers to produce on UWP/DX12 games to sell them on the PC.

No. It's too expensive... That was the release price of the first Xbox One, and that didn't sell well (Lost the US market, that used to be dominated by Xbx). This is even more expensive if you buy a TV ( and only 10 % of Americans actually have a 4K Tv set, even less in the rest of the world), You may argue that the Original Xbox One (it's so complicated with this names!) it wasn't as powerful as the PS4, but casuals: kids, moms, regular fat guy, don't care about that stuff (they'll get the cheaper console that has more games and unique games: exclusives). And the hardcores will get a PS4 pro or most probably a good PC set.
But at the end of the day, in the famous words of James Carville: It's all about the games, Stpd!

Will it sell... Yes. Will it sell more than the competitor or their Xbox One S model... No. I think given the price MS put the console at they are actually fine with this being a console that gets bought up more by the hardcore enthusiast vs general market at launch. In many ways this console feels like the Elite controller they launched. Once people started getting their hands on the Elite controller word of mouth spread faster than their own marketing of the controller and it has sold well for them. I am sure MS is hoping this will have a similar path.

It will sell as an optional upgrade for mainly people with 4k tv. Many n4g fanboys are heralding this as a blockbuster console that drowns out ps4 and x1 as if no one will buy ps4 and x1 again. Its an excellent console but lets not get carried away here

Getting good support at the beginning then relying on third parties to carry you through, but in this case just relying (pretty much) on third parties to carry you through til next gen.( mid gen after all)

They stated they have signed some deals that will come to fruition in 2-3 years I bet that's when they announce their next system..

I'm good where I am at til next gen, hopefully it doesn't come too damn soon though I have a crazy back log of games.
At the rate these (upgrade) things are going I may just start to upgrade at the mid gen refreshes instead of at the start.

I also do think that the sells will depend on what the trade in offers of the xbox one and xbox s go for.

Will it sell, who knows, but I am of the same mindset as I was when I bought the Pro. The only one I am concerned with is the one that I am buying, no control over how many units sell after that, so not really concerned about it. It will be what it will be.

Stupid question. Of course it'll sell. The real question is whether or not it will sell well, or better than a Sony console. I personally don't think it'll do that well, honestly. It's just a suped up Xbox One S—nothing really different here. They even look identical. The Xbox One X is just Microsoft's answer to the PS4 Pro and I have a feeling that it will not do nearly as well as the PS4 Pro did.

In the 30 million XBO sold there is about 5% or less that care about 4k & specs.It doesn't have an arsenal of brand new original interesting exclusives to push the system to potentially get new XBO owners.Only the minute of tech savvy XBO fanatics will purchase this 500 dollar mid gen console to play most multi-plats & indies including the fact most games will be using checkerboard 4k/30fps though there are some games that'll be in native 4k/30 to 60fps. Basically it'll sell but selling well is a big question.

No it will sit on shelves and not sell a single unit and everyone will boycott everything MS and pledge allegiance to all things Sony. Then MS will completely liquidate as a company and disappear from existence and any remnants of their existence will be purged from the world and Sony will have only Nintendo to compete with. Initially yes but sales will taper off rapidly after the small core of fanboys buy it. Lets not forget Phil himself stated it was marketed towards a specific group, which isn't the entire xbox fan base, not even close.

Xbox one X won't fail neither is it dead on arrival. All my friends bought and og Xbox one not an S. So we've only spent $500 so far. So when I upgrade in 4 years for $500 I feel fine. Its way way way better than my 500GB Xbox one.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
