Great stuff. There's a few of these sort of 2D Souls, Metroid and Lovecraft blends knocking around at the moment but this one looks the best. Got to love those nasty little sadistic kills, casually chucking the carved out heart onto the dead body. Brutal but cool.

Metroidvania Corner: Blasphemous

VGChartz's Paul Broussard: "If you’re looking for a title with exploration, platforming, and some challenging combat, this is a great experience that adds to 2019’s absolutely incredible line-up of releases. The problem is it’s a bad Metroidvania, which is a shame because this is an article series about Metroidvanias. If I do a series on Souls-likes, expect Blasphemous to be at the top of the list, but as far as Metroidvanias go it rates pretty low because it hardly even attempts to be part of the genre."

i initially wanted to play it cause of the art style, too me a while to actually find it, but damn did i love the game and the lore
