Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite's Demo Frustrates

GameRaven.com writes:

''Capcom was once the undisputed champion of the fighting genre. That’s all changed in the last few years. Street Fighter 5’s failings and a growing rejection of re-releasing Street Fighter 2 have left a number of questions over Capcom’s position. Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite could be the Japanese giant’s redemption.''

Series has been so good so far that I'll give it a chance. But if the reviews are really bad I'll cancel that preorder. Kinda shitty that characters in the story mode are paid dlc. (Sigma and black panther so far...)

this is just based on the story demo, can't really comment too much until the 'full demo' pops out

Dragon ball fighterz will take the reigns eventually. I could see it expanding to other franchises. A bunch of shonen and anime characters coming together in one game. As for marvelvscapcom, they need to go back to sprite, similar to DBFz, back to the basics which made it what it was

PixelGateUk3250d ago

i don't think it's a visual thing that's the issue, more content

VersusDMC3250d ago

The content of DBFZ is really unknown for now though. Only six characters so far. And going by the history of arc systems story modes(guilty gear, blazeblue, persona...) the story mode will be a lot of static images with a lot of dialogue. No cinematic style cutscenes in their history. At least MVCI is really putting some focus on story mode this time. Having said that I'm still more hyped for DBFZ. It just looks so good...

DBFZ isn't sprites. It's a 3D engine. It's just that Arc Systems anime'd the F out of the Unreal engine that it looks like sprites. The half realistic look of MVCI just makes it kinda creepy looking.

The loading times were PS2 era, and please just compare this to MVC2 roster, i'm not planning to buy this game anymore, i'm gonna wait for a GOTY edition sale at 20 bucks.

Please don't bring up the mvc2 character amount. MVC2 was just recycling a decade of old capcom fighting characters... Might as well compare it to the Mugen character list. MVC3 character amount was never an issue.
