will be better on the Xbox 360 due to its familiar PC like architecture. The PS3 requires a completely different approach to game development. Hence the reason why developers have been angry as to why they have to learn something new when you could have made it more familiar. The only reason why games can be ported in the first place is due to the Cell's PPU. But I really doubt they have taken the time to fully use any of its SPU's. Especially when they are just trying to launch a game on several platforms at once.

i wish EA still had the rights to MLB games. they were so much better compared to 2k baseball game. Maybe 2k will do a better job this time around, because MLB 2k6 blew.

....how many multiplatform games there are and will be? In fact, most games are multiplatform. It's plainly obvious that these multiplatform games will be developed for the 360 and then ported to the PS3. Let's, just for a second, buy into your fanboy logic, and it's not that the 360 is a better console, it's that the PS3 is receiving ports that explains why the 360 versions are better. Who cares? The point is that the 360 versions are better and will continue to be better, for whatever reason. Since most games are multiplatform, why buy a PS3?

So far, the 360 exclusives are putting the PS3 exclusives to shame. Additionally, the PS3 is losing many of its exclusives due to its lackluster start. So whats left for Sony fanboys? Well, the few exclusives that Sony may or may not keep, may or may not be better than 360 exclusives some time in the future......possibly. Wow, this is a far cry from what people thought the PS3 would be like a year ago. Oh yeah, and the PSN is still very inferior to LIVE. Maybe if Sony started charging for it, they could actually hire some software types to make it worthwhile. Just a thought.

Xbox 360: out first, larger installed base, easier to program/develop for. PS3: Out second, overpriced, and not selling. Gets ports from 360 for ALL multi-platform games, games which will look and play bette on 360 and have more features (especially online). Last gen: ports from PS2 to Xbox. it's be being developed on the ps3 and 360 at the same time - that doesn't necessarily make it a port... why don't you think the 360 version is a port and they're dev'ing it first on the ps3? (oh, yes, that's coz the ps3 is a nightmare to code for, i forgot).... besides, have any of you guys tried to port a game between two wildly different h/w architectures?... thought not. please go out and learn something about game development before you post messages about game development. (and yes, before you ask - I have developed games before).

And how many more month of development time do we have? I know the PS3 version of NBA 2k7 ended up being superior to the 360 version in graphics, animation, and AI processing.

People just stop and stare at the wonderful eye candy. He's either playing that or Blackhawk Down is running and looks and sounds kick ass! And guess what? He doesn't even sell the PS3. He's got it in there to show off the blu-ray player and superb picture quality compared to any other blu-ray player on the market. It looks great! Believe me. The place is called Bjorn's. He knows Spielberg, Lucas, (I mean really knows them)Hollywood and Washington Insiders and does installs for the Spurs, Mavericks, TEXANS, Stars, Cowboys and Rockets players. He might know a thing or two about picture quality. You can dog MLB 2k7 all you want -- I could care less. I'm not a 2k7 fan (not big on ports, except for Madden and it's getting worse each year on all platforms) anyway. Like I said -- if I WANT to buy a baseball game anyway it'll be SNE's "The Show". Besides I'm not sure how my Dodgers are gonna do anyway this year with Schmidt (the traitor) out there so I'm not all that hyped up about it anyway. Besides, one of the Cardinals should've been on the cover of this game and the SHOW (namely D. Eckstein) -- seeing that they waxed San Diego's, NYCE's, and Detroit's Asses last year. I bet half you guys on here don't even know what hitting for the cycle is much less what division your team is in (if you've got one). You're just pissin' in your pants 'cause youre so happy that a game for the PS3 has gotten a bad review so far vs. the 360. So you feel you need to put in your 2 cents worth to try and make a point. MLB the Show will be my game IF i decide to pick up the 'ol pasttime, and if not I'll still be draining threes with 24 on '07 and feeding your goalie puck-cakes evertime I hit the zone with John Madden from the mighty NJ Devils. All I have to say is GameRankings.com averages every single review of a game ever listed. If you don't have money like me to buy every game for every console and compare them head to head....GameRankings is the place to go.

Now from my personal comparissons...I am right on Par with all the reviews and head to head comparissons stated on many web sites. Every single game I have for the 360 looks and plays better than every sinlge ps3 version of the same game. Thats the Truth. Its not even close in most cases. I have come to realize that the ps3 most likely will never match the 360 in regards to graphics and game performance. Now, I know that won't sit well with a few sony fanatics...but it doesn't change the fact that I own all 3 next gen systems and every single game out for the 360 and the ps3. And the 360 is clearly better for games and its online offerings. But, I'm still hopefull for something great at some point for the ps3. But I'm super elated about my purchases my 360's. Its amazing even to me that a 400 dollar console outperforms a 600 dollar console.... Next gen is here...its now...its exciting...and its affordable.

Either way, I don't buy Topgamers claims of "360 games look and perform better than PS3 titles", especially after seeing the new footage of Lair, Motorstorm, and F1 championship. Hell, Sony hasn't even shown us their really big titles for the year and we're already seeing a noticeable power gap.

Those E3 '05 specs were a lot more truthful than many people realize. Come on, we're only two months into the console's life cycle and we're already seeing a PS3 power advantage? I can't imagine what the gap will be like within a three-year period.

Of course you wouldn't buy my observations from my personal experience actually playing the ps3 and the xbox 360. ha ha ha ha ha .... You are blind buddy. And you are ignorant because you don't even own both systems. So you are speaking with no first hand knowledge what so ever. P.S. I loved Perfect Dark. The graphics are beautiful in HD and the gameplay is fun. Online is a blast as well. The average of 9.0's for that game are right on. And with it selling over a million copies...I know I'm not alone.

top gamer is right as far as ive seen, 360 games just look better. im not a computer person i dont know all the specs and crap from either. but i know what looks better and thats all i need. ps3 can have all the power in the world (which i dont believe either) but if the games dont look better then they just dont look better. This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
