Forza 7, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of thieves and now Super Luckys Tale are all native 4K.

Seems like light work for them.

Gazondaily3263d ago

"I don't understand how they ... it's like a high-end PC crammed into this tiny little box"

What an absolute BEAST. Wow! ♏

bluefox7553263d ago

It almost sounds like you're being sarcastic at this point, lol.

Silly Mammo3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

@Septic
Funny enough, at one time I defended you as not being a xbox fanboy but rather being a fair and balanced chap. All this obnoxoius BEAST shite in every article over the last couple months makes me regret standing up for you. Maybe you are just a MS shill. Smdh

Gazondaily3263d ago

Lol why does it wind you lot up so much?

Silly Mammo3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

"@Starlord- Septic is a troll? You're kidding right? He's one of the most unbiased users here. While I don't always agree with what Septic posts, I never thought of him as trolling.
850d ago"

Maybe because you used to be more unbiased and I respected your opinion. You've changed and it saddens me.

Gazondaily3263d ago

Lol Mammo dont take it to heart. You should be able to decipher what's going on

Skillz12153263d ago

your such a corn ball lol

Gazondaily3263d ago

Lol I don't know what a corn ball is but I imagine it means connoisseur of greatness and master of knowledge.

MegamanXXX3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

So I guess a jaguar laptop cpu is like a high end PC cpu. Maybe I should take out my Intel 7700k and swap it in with a laptop cpu

343_Guilty_Spark3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

Microsoft only has one of the best hardware engineering teams in the industry

Skull5213262d ago

It does things my 2014 $2K gaming PC can't. He isn't joking. My PC still performs very well for 1440 and 1080 gaming but 4K isn't realistic on it.

bouzebbal3262d ago

Oh man!!!
High end ? More like a dead end without games !

Wallstreet373262d ago

Lol I see what your doing. Release the Microsoft Krakon. That will be my beast name for the "X"

Gazondaily3262d ago

Hehe Wallstreet my man! 👊

thekhurg3262d ago

High end PC with a garbage CPU.

Crackdown 3 is not, Sea of Thieves devs are still looking into One X support, haven't even started.

Forza is native 4k as far as we know. The rest listed we do not know anything for sure about yet....

XMarkstheSpot3263d ago

Crackdown 3 is native 4K. So is the Lord of the Rings game

3262d ago
Aenea3262d ago

@XMarksthespot

Show me the DigitalFoundry analysis and I believe you...

threefootwang3263d ago

Yeah this makes sense.

Let's be realistic here, how many PC gamers are running around with 8-10 TF's of power? The number can't be that high, in fact I'm willing to bet that most users are still hovering around the 2-3TF range...so for them to say the One X is like a high end PC, well face it, is true.

ocelot073263d ago

Not going to disagree or agree with the devs. Personally I don't see it as a high end PC. But then again am not a developer.

There is about 125million active steam users. According to the Steam database 3.34% of them have a GTX 1070 which has 6.5TF so a little over 4million steam users have a 1070. A further 5.19% (6.5million) of them have a 1060 (4TF).

As for 8-10TF over 2 million steam users have a 1080 (11TF). So a fair amount of people have monster PC's while a fair whack have amazing PC's. But let's face is even the almost 6% of PC users that own a GTX 970 have a smoother experience than us console players.

conanlifts3263d ago

I use a 970 and i can still run everything at 1080p ultra. 4k wise it only runs new games around 20fps. The gpu in the X is a lot more powerful and to me that is impressive.

mocaak3262d ago

@ocelot07

Amd's Tflops are not comparable to Nvidias. Gtx 1070 is much more powerful than the gpu in One X, which is a slightly improved rx 480, and is comparable to gtx 970.

@sd11

Gtx 970 runs games at 4k above 30fps pretty easily, all you have to do is tone down the settings and turn AA off. Xbox One X's setting in games were nowhere near PC's Ultra settings.

jmc88883262d ago (Edited 3262d ago )

Xbox One X is a nice console, but it's nowhere near a high end PC. The guy saying that, simply isn't very acute to what a high end PC is these days.

There's a few differences, that are very noticeable.

#1 We're comparing a system that isn't out yet to mostly last year's or 2014's cards. 970's/980's/980ti' s/1070's/1080's. There's also 1080ti's, Titan XP, and what might be out right around the time Xbox One X is out.

#2 We're forgetting a few things about these GPU's. For one The 1000 series can easily hit 2000mhz (mostly by itself 1950-2050, that last ~100mhz from using an overclocking utility), whereas the TFlop rating is giving us what is from ~1700mhz. So when you lop off 250-350 mhz, you're losing almost a Xbox One.

A 2000mhz GTX 1070 would be about 7.68 TFlops (and it can be higher).

Then people are looking at it like AMD = Nvidia FLops. That's just not the case. It's well known Nvidia has about a 30 percent Flop vs Flop advantage.

So when you compare a ~6.1 TFlop AMD vs ~7.7 TFlop Nvidia you have to account for that. A 7.7 TFlop Nvidia is going to be equivalent to about a 9.5-10 TFlop AMD.

6.1 vs 9.5-10 is a massive gap, and that's not all.

#3 Then you have the CPU's.
Jaguar CPU's are very underpowered. Were in 2013, even more so in 2017.

Right now a Jaguar CPU would be the biggest bottleneck.
http://www.pcgamer.com/inte...

Just check out what a better then what's in any console FX 8370 clocked at 4GHZ (with 4.3ghz turbo) leaves on the table.

Then realize the best CPU in a console runs at 2.3 ghz.

With a GTX 1080, an i7 7700k oc can get 114.5 fps average in the games they tested, whereas a far better then what's in the consoles struggles with 85.4 FPS. You can bet your butt you are losing another 25-40 FPS with those low clocked Jaguars.

So think about that. It's not just GPU that matters, it's CPU that matters, in this case actually more.

6.1-6.2 AMD TFlops
Weak Jaguar CPU that are wasting much of the power.

It's not about how many people have this or that. It's about what is out there, and comparing.

There are better GPU's, and just about every decent CPU from the last 6-7 years is better.

If you could somehow pair a GTX 1070 with a Jaguar 2.3ghz CPU, you'd have massive, massive problems with trying to run higher framerates.

It's the CPU that's holding everything back, and makes it without a doubt, not a high end PC.

High end PC''s... what exactly is that? It's always moving. Is it the people who buy the Titans? the XX80 or XX80ti's? Is it the one's who buy multiple GPU's... like multiple Titans?

I don't consider a GTX 1070 high end (there's THREE video cards faster from the same company), and when coupled with a modern CPU, it runs circles around Xbox One X.

A nice console, a big upgrade, but it left about half or more of the power on the table because of the CPU.

conanlifts3261d ago (Edited 3261d ago )

@jmc8888

"So when you compare a ~6.1 TFlop AMD vs ~7.7 TFlop Nvidia you have to account for that. A 7.7 TFlop Nvidia is going to be equivalent to about a 9.5-10 TFlop AMD. "

The point i have been trying to get across is that many people are now assuming a console gpu is running at the same level of efficiency as a pc. This has never happened. It didn't happen in the xbox one or ps4. They have made numerous changes to the gpu and it is running on a console which always have greater efficiency. Your statement is a comparison between cards running in a pc. It has always been the case that to get the same level of performance on pc as a console you go up 1 tier on pc . A pc equivelant gpu for xbox one cannot run gears 4 the same as console. The same pc chip in pc cannot run uncharted 4 the same as the ps4 consoles. Why would it be different now suddenly?

It would probably be easier to make that your profile statement.

Apologies that reply was for Septic regarding his "beast" comments.

yellowgerbil3262d ago

A racing game will always look almost a gen above any other type of game based on the fact that it has little animation and the backgrounds are basically matte paintings.
Crackdown 3 is a cell shaded game that can't even crumble a building without a whole server farm backing it up.
State of Decay 2 looks like a double A PS3/360 game graphically.
Sea of Theives is really simplistic looking
Super Luckys Tails looks worse than Mario Odyssey graphically and unlike Mario looks like it won't be fun at all.
Mediocrity in 4k!

Ausbo3262d ago

Shadow of war as well. And metro is "targeting native 4k"

Razzer3262d ago

LOL....those games don't need high end PC specs to run native 4k. Not even close.

FlyingFoxy3263d ago

Well it's not like my high end PC, that's for sure.

I said many times in the past that not that many games would run at native 4k 60fps and always got down voted for it, now even MS admits many games would be 30fps locked.

Don't get me wrong it will be decent for the money, and i like console gaming from time to time, but it really is nowhere near as good as my 1080Ti & 1440p 165hz screen, any game running at 100+fps is just buttery smooth compared to even 60fps.

dcbronco3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

How much is a 1080ti? You say X is a pretty good deal? Sure, your $600 GPU wins.

Sorry, $700 GPU. Yeah, I'm completely shocked your $1500 machine beats the $500 one. You have 4k bluray too right?

Death3263d ago

Maybe you misinterpreted what he said. I'm running a GTX1080 and i7 7700K overclocked to 5GHz. I can't achieve 4K@60 in many games. I' would say 4K@30 is pretty much baseline with some dips without adjustments. To be a 4K@45 as a baseline I will need a second GTX1080. Forza Apex is locked at 4K@60 which is to be expected. Destiny 2 would be the same on my system.

If Scorpio is indeed like a PC with a GTX1070 that would be impressive for a $499 console. A GTX1079 is $400 alone. The odd thing is they are accomplishing these stats with AMD hardware which do about half of what nvidea cards are doing.

dcbronco3262d ago

Death the thing with Scorpio is the extra work Microsoft did running a simulation of the parts at Stanford. They run a simulation on a virtual system that acts like the given parts. They then isolated the bottlenecks on all of the available engines till the simulation showed each game running smoothly. It required doubling bandwidth or more in several areas within the design of the CPU and GPU. Once the simulation showed the parts were effective for all of the engines and games they had they sent it to AMD to print the chip. They also took certain things from Vega that were better than the Polaris solutions. So the Scorpio engine is a hybrid. That's why it punches above it's weight. That's also why you have heard Phil and others say the chip exceeded their expectations. It outperforms the simulation. But more than anything I want to see the next generation console designed using the simulation system because it should contain Navi and Zen. That is really going to be a beast and PC won't have much of anything over it. 4k/60 will be easy and with BC all Scorpio games will be native. And we could be talking about 20 teraflop GPUs and 16 core CPUs in three years. I know people will start the $800 nonsense again as always but you're talking 7nm+ or maybe 5nm and its already rumored AMD is making Threadripper for $120-40 for 16 cores now for the low end 2.8ghz chip. At 7nm+ that will be even cheaper so that becomes a $60 part on a semicustom order plus another $80-100 on the GPU. We are living in the future.

conanlifts3263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

Of course it cant touch a 1080ti. But it will outperform anything less than a 1070.

Razzer3262d ago

Right. Which means not high end at all.

MegamanXXX3262d ago

The X laptop cpu is not high end.

Sciurus_vulgaris3263d ago

When I first saw a glance of the Lucky's Tale trailer. I sadly thought it was a Conker game.............

zombiewombie3263d ago

I did too. When I saw an orange tail whip across the screen.

Sciurus_vulgaris3263d ago

It was more of Phil Spencer's teasing of classic IPs lol.

sadsatan3263d ago

based on the cpu, it's actually low-end

bluefox7553263d ago (Edited 3263d ago )

This is true, even basic 7th gen pentiums that cost $60 outperform the CPUs in current consoles. I get that some people are excited about it, and that's great, but there's no need for people to be dishonest about it's capabilities.

Death3263d ago

You guys clearly don't build or know how the performance in the consoles stack up to PC. I'm very impressed with how much both Sony and Microsoft are getting out of these consoles. These are dedicated machines and not multi tasking like a PC does. Their efficiency is extremely good. They don't need i7's to get i7 results. I can't believe what they are getting out of these AMD GPU's alone.

bluefox7553263d ago

@Death Sure, I wasn't saying that talented developers can't crank out games that look like they're on a high end PC. I'm saying that they aren't high end PCs, far from it. Talented developers will trump raw hardware power every time. Though there is always a limit, and it seems to come in the way of performance time and again this gen. They can make the games look fantastic, but with the low power jag cores, it's not easy to squeeze out 60fps.

3262d ago
KwietStorm_BLM3263d ago

"Developers" said the same thing about PS4 Pro. None of these consoles are like a high end PC. I don't know why they keep force feeding us this nonsense. I have to wonder if some of them even have experience with a high end rig, because it's always devs from the same subset of smaller studios.

dveio23d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing23d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
