Certainly they've made the most of the conference. Showing up at Ubisoft, showing up Sony when it comes to cross-play.

i disagree. here's why. nintendo was by far the wrose. sony was criticized for being 1hr, while nintendo clocked in at 25 mins. sony was criticized for having what amounted to a string of trailers, well nintendo didn't even have that! they just said they are working on a pokemon game, no trailer no tittle nothing. and they didn't give much more with metroid prime 4. at least you got a tittle that time. presentation wise microsoft bested them both with 40+ games, over 90 mins and broken up with announcements of new hardware, release date, price and features. Seriously you have to be extremely biased to not give MS the credit here. any one of the other platform holders show new hardware would of been an instant win. we're talking the most powerful console clear graphical boost over the nearest competition. games showed looked next gen, like metro exodus and anthem. thats not even to take away from sony because those games are coming to sony as well, but won't look and play as well as they do on one x.

another area microsoft bested them was being the only platform holder to announce new features, OG xbox compatibility. plus large sweeping updates to existing games. There are already more games confirmed getting 4k support and updates within hours of the conference than there is for ps4 pro in all the months since it's release. seriously the witcher 3, RE7, DOOM and many more.

back to nintendo, they trot out a new kirby. well god damn, how is this diff than so many of the previous kirby games? it does nothing new for a kirby game. then after yoshi island game on 3ds and yoshi wholly world we get another yoshi game. seriously who was clamoring for that or excited about new yoshi? and then the fact that DLC is making nintendo's e3 presentation isn't good. nintendo charging money for dlc that includes new difficulty level mean while microsoft dropped one of the biggest updates to gear 4, many new maps and modes all for free! on top of the previous free content since launch, and ms didn't even mention it at e3 they got it out of the way before e3.

games for switch look like up res ps2 graphics. character model lack so much detail. it's like ps2 when characters had blocky hands and fingers no details like fingers nails for example. mean while microsoft is dropping the most detailed graphics ever seen on a console in true 4k. unacceptable from nintendo since they want to market the switch as a home console, the even reiterated that in their presentation. they should call it a portable and be done with it. mario oddesey gets tepid reaction like what the hell are they doing with mario? not the instant omg this is amazying reaction we got with mario 64, galaxy, or mario 3d world.

lastly, it's annoying how nintendo is. the switch marks the first time a company has released a new console generation (from wii u to switch) where the previous console (wii u) could absoloutly play all the games being shown off for the new system (switch)

There's no reason nintendo shouldn't be release the new pokemon game, all those japanese games, the new kirby, mario, yoshi games on wii u as well. wii u runs zelda breath of wild just fine. and any of those other games can be run on the wii u. nintendo is shafting their customers hard. people shouldn't have to pony up money for a switch when they have a device that can play it at home. nintendo are not as good as microsoft in this respect. a company like microsoft could of handled it more competently. imagine having two systems like the one s and one x but the "wii u" and "wii up) (portable) games could be on both, the wii up or switch could offer enhanced versions much like one x does and portability. and nintendo would have a larger user base witch to sell games too.

and by the way, there is even precedence for this by third party's games like shadow of mordor came out on ps4/xbox one and ps3/360. last of us on ps3/ps4. microsoft offering backward compatibility. why are there not wii u / switch version of games? or why doesn't the switch offer some kind of wii u back compat? nintendo dropped the ball hard and should be called out for all the short comings, not praised. at this rate it's no wonder their fans and shareholders alike want them to release games on iphone and go third party.

I feel they announced Pokémon because people were upset last week with the Pokken announcement but there was never a doubt a mainline Pokémon game was coming.

Metroid Prime 4 was announced too to show fans that it's coming but I'm really hoping some footage will be shown during the Treehouse event.

All in all, it was a good 25 minute presentation

Nintendo approached Criterion about making F-Zero a few years back (Criterion declined because they were too busy at the time), so clearly Nintendo's aware of the interest and they're actively looking to make another. I think we will see a new F-Zero game before the end of the Switch's life.

That Yoshi game was looking really slick. And I didn't know it was made with the Unreal Engine 4.

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted
