"My expectations were a bit low for this year's E3 conference by Microsoft, because MS did rather poorly last year. Well, I'm sure glad that MS was able to turn the tables, because they got just about everything right during their E3 2017 press conference =) And this is the reason why" - Jim Meldrum, TGG.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Your entitled to your opinion of course but the general consensus not just on N4G but on gaming forums across the internet was that Microsoft did a really poor job. And I think you could summarize that by saying they got almost everything wrong.
My issue with the press conf was the fact that other than forza 7, none of the games they showed look like they are taking advantage of the x. They needed to show big new ip, they have nothing that can compete with a Spiderman, tlou, gown ect. I wanted to see fable 4, ryse 2,lost o2 ,a new shooter ip .
@Gaming_Cousin "It was a bad show"
- So, what grade would you give it then? 2/5?
@Gaming_Cousin "Bethesda was the worst"
- That I can agree on, then EA (imo).
@tyasia0 "I wouldn't give it a score. I would just say they failed to do what they needed to do. The goal was to show a new console which they did but then they failed at showing why people should buy it. And I feel like they failed in a most ironic way that should have been obvious to them. They are trying to prove that X can do all these fancy graphics but then they show low poly indie games. It should have been obvious that was the wrong thing to show. And it's not that the games were bad they just weren't games you need a $500 dollar console to play.
Then there was the fact that most of the games they showed were timed exclusives many of which are already on PC. And by not showing any new first party games they really left an important unanswered question. What comes after these four games that they have been showing for years? People criticize Sony for showing games in advance, but that is really important for fans. I know of at least two dozen retail exclusive games that will be coming for PS4 in the next 18-24 months. That is a HUGE reassurance that my investment in PS4 will pay off.
So that's my reply."
- I see, yes, that's fair critique for sure. True, so they got a lot to work on with no doubt. I'm actually having thoughts about buying a PS3 slim and PS4 pro myself :P Anyways, I get where your coming from. So you got a valid point. I guess I didn't quite see it like that while watching the show. Then again, I wasn't 100% sure if I had seen it all either. As they uploaded more videos to their Youtube account shortly after their E3 event was over.
