There would also be some pressure from AMD but a technology cross license deal should kill that. Microsoft might only be going with $499 because it is more than fair compared to PS4 Pro. You also have to question a person who looks to Michael Pachter. Pachter has been watching gaming for over re years and admitted over the internet that he still doesn't know what a teraflop is. That's like a guy betting your money on the auto industry saying I don't know anything about what horsepower is.

I look at it this way, all three companies have a better spotlight on their product release by keeping a roll out release break for each platform holders new system.

The cost being only $499.00 is not that expensive for what you are getting and the games will come , it's not like this new Xbox one x is going to be a obsolete system in a short pd. Of time.

It's designed to be on the market and still be there as well as the upgraded Xbox one x upgrade in 4-5 years. That's atleast what Microsoft stated the update refresh scedual will be ..every 4-5 years.

Which is not a bad thing , if that's your thing to look forward too. Even when the new refresh comes out , the Xbox one x will still be on the market so no matter what you will have time to upgrade at your leisure anyway.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
