This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.

Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

Sorry but this gives Sony a major black eye and the PS4 is not the leader in sales for this game, PC is. All Sony is saying to its fanbase is that they will now give them the most inferior version because they don't want to share the online world with other consoles. No dedicated servers either.
Minecraft is all about sharing and is the best game to showcase playing together but Sony's ego and pride seem to be getting in the way. I hope they get drilled about it this week but Sony has a KNACK for getting away with things and coming out unscathed.
Crossplay is a good thing - it'd be better for gamers everywhere if we could play multi-plat games online with our friends regardless of which platform they own.

I'm more surprised Nintendo is allowing crossplay.
A developer speaking on the official Gunscape forum noted that cross-play between Switch and Xbox One has been “conditionally approved”.
Seems Microsoft and Nintendo may allow more crossplay with games and that's great for gamers. I'm hoping for more
