YAAAAAAY

He's back and it looks like it's improved. I bet DarkOcelot just passed out watching that.

Lol

This is an easy day one

Edit: Shinji Mikami is confirmed to be returning as director!!!!!!!!!!

gantarat3270d ago (Edited 3270d ago )

He's listed as the executive producer on the game's website.

I just came in to check DarkOcelet's vitals and whatnot :3

Just incase people don't see.

The games plot

"Set in Union, a crumbling city built using Lily’s mind as the Core, The Evil Within 2 presents a mix of closed off, claustrophobic environments that are reminiscent of the first game, and new, less linear areas that will give you the opportunity to explore at your own pace," say Bethesda.

"You’ll be able to wander freely and poke through all the dark corners of the world at your leisure, but this is still a survival horror game, and ammo and resources will be scarce. You’ll need to prepare carefully and move cautiously as you discover the secrets of Union and unravel Mobius’ plans from within STEM."

So Lily is alive and it's being set out as a town. Sounds like it's took in criticism of being zipped around randomly in the first game.

Indeed. Looks amazing. Hope playable Kidman makes a return too.

Summons753270d ago

They announced two games. The first Evil Within was really bad but this looks like it's fixing a lot and making it more horror like Silent Hill and less Resident Evil 4/5/6 so it's going to be more horror than action. I'm excited for this.

_-EDMIX-_3270d ago

I have no idea what you're talking about the first Evil Within was a masterpiece.

And I'm not even sure how you could tell any of that buy a trailer especially considering the first Evil Within was very psychologically obscure exactly like Silent Hill.

Less Resident Evil 4? I don't understand? How did you see in this trailer that it would have less action? So basically somebody said that trailer is the whole game? 😂😂😂 28514;

Ok bud.

Everything that they showed could have been in the first Evil Within and it would have been right at home.

Sorry but you cannot tell how much of anything is going to be inside of a game by a specific degree based on a damn trailer.

Daybish993270d ago

Right the only thing I didn't like about the first one was the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen and the way the camera Rock back and forth when you walked

Summons753270d ago

The Evil Within was far from a masterpiece, don't be so delusional. It was average at best. It leaned too much into the action like Resi 4 and 5 which took away the scares. Also learn to read because not ONCE did I say that was the whole game but that it LOOKED like it was going to be more horror than action which is a good thing. They only showed a sliver of gameplay. I know you are one of N4Gs biggest troll but like I've said many times, please educate yourself before attempting to be pathetic.

@Summon-

"They only showed a sliver of gameplay"

Yet "making it more horror like Silent Hill and less Resident Evil 4/5/6"

You know this how? Can you admit maybe you jumped the gun or nah? Can you also do that without name calling bud? Its not that serious. Stay on topic. Sorry but even you are saying " They only showed a sliver of gameplay" yet " it's going to be more horror than action". Well...I'm pretty sure you can't really know this from that trailer alone bud. Same director too, as Shinji Mikami is confirmed to be returning to direct. You see to jump into the personal attacks as soon as anyone questions your post. I won't personal attack back as its just not my style.

Seriously, stay on topic.

YES!!!!!

This looks greatly improved from the game engine to the gameplay. I am so excited for this. I'm also surprised luara seems to be returning as well.

-Foxtrot3270d ago (Edited 3270d ago )

Well I don't think you can kill anything within this twisted world for good. Although it's surprising since I assumed Ruvik got out in Leslies body which means he'd have no control over the STEM world, unless he's created another one and you're going into that one this time. I mean Laura was only present because of Ruvik unless because of his experience with her Sebs shaping the STEM world with memories of her.

Although I don't see what he would have to do with Sebs daughter and the fire...that was MOBIUS.

The saving grace of that absolute waste of a conference, only cared for the last few moments when we got actual gameplay, BIG improvement! Offt, snatching this bad boy up Friday the 13th sonnnnn!

goatking3270d ago (Edited 3270d ago )

They shouldn't of had a conference, and just had xbox or playstation reveal these at their conferences, the rest of the conference was terrible.

PaleMoonDeath3270d ago

Amen. I stayed up for this thing, in the UK it started at 5AM.. Ugh.

Sony next sonnnn!

The 10th Rider3270d ago (Edited 3270d ago )

Yeah, it was at midnight for me and I wasn't about to sit around and watch it.

As I said previously, some DLC (like the Dishonored standalone), Some VR stuff, Skyrim Switch, some ES: O stuff, Wolfenstien 2, and the Evil Within 2.

Glad I didn't stay up for it.

The Evil Within Deserved More: A Great Horror Series Left Behind

The Outerhaven writes: While I hold Bethesda's The Evil Within series as some of the best Survival Horror games available, it's clear that Bethesda has no intention of revisiting the series. While Capcom is still working on its Resident Evil series, I look back at the now-dead survival horror series from Bethesda, wondering why the series was left wide open, and yet still not revisited.

An OK horror series left behind. It had some great ideas, but it never knew how to play to its strengths. Instead, it came out like just another RE4 clone.

I would love for a third entry to come out, but it needs to learn to lean in on the psychological aspect and move away from the generic "pew pew" ideology at the center of the gameplay loop. It doesn't need to abandon it; it just needs to put it into better context, is all.

Also, try a first-person perspective instead. Too many 3rd-person games with nothing to offer but an avatar taking precious screen space. At least make it an actual option and not that janky-ass mess the second game pretended to have.

Love both games, hope that we will get third game
