Where’s the Xbox One X VR?

Does Microsoft still see VR as the problem child of modern gaming?

Major Nelson talking to Geoff about this: "We don't have details? You interested in VR? Yeah? Well, maybe we'll see something..."

So, to be honest, that means they haven't finalized anything at all and are still working on it.

Same thing with the HDD it seems. He says they're aiming for 1TB, but he couldn't confirm it.

If they did go for VR I hope they'd come up with a better name for the product than "Xbox One XVR". XVR? I don't think I like that either.

I thought they would say at least something but they did say 2018. My guess is with all those MR partnerships on PC, they want to control the PC market by flooding it with windows OS headsets, then push VR and AR hard. All they had to do was announce Vive or Oculus support and that would have helped them in the console industry.

I mean, the idea is sound business in creating a headset standard by getting hardware manufactures onboard. If they get developers onboard too, it would be a win. But with at least 4 windows versions, that means they want control instead. Windows update tools, headset and third party control is their goal.

Just have to wait and see what happens.

Let others fill their stage with VR filler.

At least those will be actual (console) exclusives, not this "launch exclusive" timed exclusive BS....

JasonKCK3276d ago

But nobody will play them :-)

Moved

"But nobody will play them :-)"

What do you mean? Currently there are way more PSVR sold than One X's 😜

JasonKCK3276d ago

Obviously, it's not out yet. Did you fall on your head? Helmets help.

I heard the Job Creators devs have a new game. It's called, Job Creators 2 The Unemployment Line.

Aenea3276d ago (Edited 3276d ago )

Ahhhh, someone is just salty it seems 'cos MS forgot to mention 'high fidelity VR'! 😜

See the first comment, then back to the second.

No robot golf or $60 look around demos shown on MS's stage. Everything shown was in 4k though.

"Everything shown was in 4k though."

It was? News to me!
It might be, but we don't know for sure, the games need to be released first tho so we can pixel count...

"No robot golf or $60 look around demos shown on MS's stage"

Something tells me you never actually tried VR, huh?

But hey, enjoy your few more pixels with the exact same gameplay, I'll enjoy a totally different experience with VR instead, thanks!

JasonKCK3276d ago

Somethings tells me you got triggered.

Aenea3276d ago

Shame tho that MS can't deliver on one of their promises, yet again....
