Hell no, there's not going to be a dramatic turnaround at this point

BLizardXD3265d ago (Edited 3265d ago )

last E3 people said the same before XB1 S and Scopio were announced. with 4k media support. people were expecting on there not being such additions and yet they exist. but whatever, maybe it's good to go in with low expectations this E3 for the surprises.

Taco,

If you really believe that Sony doenst know what MS is planning, hardware-wise and vice versa then you need to wake up. They are both close partners with AMD (especially MS) so its only logical they have their informants within. Just look how similar the xb1 and OG ps4 where in terms of SoC design.

As it stands Sony has this gen locked (scorpio on no scorpio) and they are at least 6 years ahead of MS since the ps5 will take the cake from scorpios mouth in 2018-19 before they even have the chance to grab a bite.

I have no expectations myself. All I want is for them to announce some games. If they can't meet that, then they have real problems.

FinalFantasyFanatic3265d ago (Edited 3265d ago )

Yep, I can't see them pulling a slew of must have software out their hats at this point, and that's what they really need for a strong finish this gen (assuming we have another 2 or 3 years left at least).

BlakHavoc3265d ago

Enough with these articles geez. They're not going to close a 30 mil sales gap in one day.

DigitalRaptor3265d ago (Edited 3265d ago )

They're not going to close a 30 mil sales gap ever. They don't even have the capability to do that if they can't outsell the PS4 in more than one or two months of the year in just North America and maybe the UK alone, and it will become something like 40 mil by halfway through 2018 or sooner.

BeOpenMinded3264d ago

40 million is not really losing. Investments may be down the line. It would take many years in the first party section to catch up with Sony, which possible but unlikely. They may have a shot with entry into the PC market. That would be successful I think, enough to warrant enough people to buy the hardware anyway

all three companies will soon fight a common war against the growing mobile industry

EverydayJoe3265d ago

I have been hearing that argument for athe least a decade.

FinalFantasyFanatic3265d ago

It's more the casuals and Japanese that are into the mobile market (PCs are getting more popular again too).

badz1493264d ago

nah...as long as mobile stays with bite-size games, gamers will still flock to consoles and PC for their gaming fix. nobody like to sacrifice their precious battery life for serious console-like gaming on the mobile. it's still a phone and they are dozens of other relevant use for it instead of gaming. Pokemon Go alone eats up a lot of juice and even without it, the best phone out there at the moment still struggles to have juice for full 2 days under normal use anyway. charging your phone every 2-3 hours because you game on it, is a chore and I know this first hand because my kids watch videos and play those bite-size games on mine everyday and having to keep it charging is annoying!

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing13d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9213d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit13d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing13d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9213d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
