When did local multiplayer need saving

FallenAngel19843284d ago

Hell no we've already had plenty of local multiplayer games in the last decade

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3286d ago

Uh Nintendo been doing local multiplayer every generation.
They gave us a lot with Wii U but people complained and wanted online shoved into games that wouldn't benefit it.

"people complained and wanted online"

??? Huh?

When did they say they didn't want local MP based on online though?

Dude, stop lying. Either quote someone, reply to someone that said that etc, but stop making up such strange events.

Asking for online doesn't mean asking for NO local MP.

You are correct, local MP has been a thing for Nintendo almost every gen, this isn't really new and I don't think it needs "saving", but I also don't think fans have been begging for it to leave in place of online.

If anything they would be asking for both.

I've yet to ever really hear anyone state they want online mp and local must die for that to happen.

Nothing can save Local MP. It is not the same anymore. Adults rather hang out outside or have some beers rather than play Video Games. Not only that but why would anyone go to a friend's house after coming from work or doing other activities? Better just play online and voice chat

Last time I had local MP with some friends from NY playing Sm4sh it felt really weird and they got bored fast. Maybe some kids of today or families may enjoy it casually, but it is not the same anymore. Online has taken over

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit22d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing22d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9222d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
