Level-5 working on Switch game(s)

Level-5 is working on game(s)* for Nintendo’s March-released Switch hardware, company president and CEO Akihiro Hino said in a Nikkei Trendy interview published today.

Here’s the excerpt:
“I think the Style of Switch is a wonderful fit for competitive games. You can play if you’re gathered in real life, as well as online. For example, I think the fact that the game lovers within a company can get together and play Mario Kart is really fascinating and interesting. And while I can’t say the content quite yet, we’re working on game(s)* that support [Switch].”

Yes multiplats, virtual console, and low risk type games. Don't expect AAA exclusive.

The Switch is shaping up to be the best handheld/hybrid ever. I dont get why so many haters are being a dick about that. I suspect its because u dont intend to buy one so u blindly bash. The Switch will have a library comparable to the 3ds but better.

@EddieNX

I really, really hope the library will improve. Also hope the library will be like 3DS, then I'm happy with it!
Right now there's not much there if I'm honest, Zelda, MK8 and Fast RMX are the only ones I like. Most of the others are either Indie games that are available on my main console (PS4) already or are old Neogo or that Namco collection.

FYI: I'm eagerly awaiting a dispatch email for my Switch, ordered one today, normally should already have had the email, already got the email for MK8 and Zelda but I need the Switch to *shakes the monitor*

Funny how you guys assume I don't have a Switch. Just cause I'm negative about it implies I don't have a Switch?

got to admit... at first i thought this was about factor-5 instead of level-5. Damn..... was hoping for a revival of the rogue squadron games on the switch.

Brave_Losers_Unite3227d ago

I love ganes from Level5. RPGs are the shit

phoenixwing3227d ago (Edited 3227d ago )

got monolith and level 5 mixed up in my original post. I like both companies.

GameBoyColor3227d ago

datriax3227d ago

Oh boy! I better go buy 3 Switch right now. This is incredible! A game developer is working on Switch games!!!!!

jamstorr863227d ago

Why do you have to be such a dick? Can't people be happy that a particular developer is making games for the switch?

GFahim3227d ago

he thinks hes cool by bashing on nintendo via sarcasm

_-EDMIX-_3227d ago

lol, how do you know he's not?

Prince_TFK3227d ago (Edited 3227d ago )

Yes let spend those imaginary money to buy those imaginary switches!

jznrpg3227d ago

Cool, I hope they are different games than those on PS4. I may buy a couple that are on both for Switch but I want Switch only games mainly for Switch.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3227d ago

Level-5 only has one PS4 game and that Ni No Kuni II.

thatguyhayat3227d ago

White knight chronicles too

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3227d ago

@thatguyhayat
I said PS4 not PS3.

_-EDMIX-_3227d ago

Likely.

Like Otaku stated, the only have 1 PS4 game coming out, a lot of what they've done in the past couple of years has been ios, android and 3DS.

So I'm expecting Professor Layton, Yo-kai Watch, something new maybe etc

rainslacker3227d ago

As far as I know, the only games they have on PS platforms are those that Sony funded, so they'll likely be different, although likely in Level-5 style...which can be diverse at times.

To make video games for Gen Z, be authentic

'They're playing games. It's just that their attention and needs are changing,' says Astrid Entertainment CEO Sharon Tal Yguado.

It’s not that Gen Z isn’t interested in AAA or story driven games, a lot of them simply don’t have the financial freedom to explore. When you’re budgeting, you stick to games that give the most value for the least cost, which is why ecosystems like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft dominate. What looks like a preference is often just economic constraint.
