Can only get so much out of the old beast.

This studio was dead before they pulled the trigger. It was clear when Zenimax forced them to start making Redfall as a Live service game they had a mass exodus of their talent. When Ralph Colantonio left and set up Wolfeye the studio just bled developers with as much of 70% of the original team gone by Redfalls release. Microsoft just put them out of their misery, and given that they have made almost no significant improvements to Redfall since they released it, shows that there wasn't a functioning studio to save. Tango Gameworks closure however is a travesty.

Microsoft has pissed me off. Like, I supported the acquisition under the idea of these studios getting to have MS money behind them and security… boy, was I delusional. This company is a real piece of sh*t. I honestly don’t think this brand can recover from the Xbox One reveal debacle and now this. Good job, you morons.

MS aren’t looking for cult classics. They didn’t spend almost 100 billion to make cult classics. Before these acquisitions Xbox was a brand MS supported without much expectations and pressure but not anymore. Companies don’t invest 100 billion and than let them be.

For the 1st time in Xbox brands history there is pressure on them to deliver and make profits. The days of gamepass are also numbered but the subscription itself will be priced much higher moving forward. They will raise the price and if they don’t see the difference in revenue you better believe MS will change course. And I know this may not be a popular opinion but bring back don matrick and he can compete weigh Nintendo and PlayStation. He knew what it took and since than Phil has been labelled the brand savior when all he has done are close studios and cancel games

It's funny, when Microsoft bought all these studios all we saw was xbox fans and websites writing about how all these old dormant franchises were going to be brought back with all the executives fanning the flames in media statements.

I said there was no way that game pass was going to be able to support the current development much less all these other games everyone was saying were right around the corner...

I guess we see how that turned out...
