their loss then, when people have a choice between systems many will choose the one that gives them more options, one of them being achievements/trophies. So if a 3rd party game is on ps4/xbo and switch, many will buy the game on the ps4/xbo because of this reason. Fact

I can confirm i do not buy a game because of the trophy system. I would prefer to buy a 3rd party game on Switch due to portability though... FACT

After going for trophies, I like the idea of not having them, just play the game to enjoy it, like I did most my years gaming since pong. Sure I have a lot of platinum trophies, but I also wasted countless hours on tedious junk I could skip, but before I uninstall a game I might as well grab the last couple trophies.

I have never heard anyone say they bought a particular game because of a trophy. I would however buy it on Switch so I can take it anywhere. FACT!

seriously, I guess I consider them a fluff item, but if you honestly are saying that a piece of hardware is defined by whether or not you get recognition for performing a task then clearly you aren't getting enough positive attention from the real world.

I seriously think people highly under estimate trophies/achievements.. people are obsessed with them, I'm not.. but I have multiple friends who go for the platinum on every game they can. I would say to a good amount of people it is definitely a factor and everyone here trying to downplay it with sarcasm is a fool.

It would be nice to get a Nintendo style trophy system. I can live without it but it would be nice if well implemented.

I get that some people don't care about it and some it doesn't influence purchasing decisions between consoles, but there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions if they could have trophies over the same game without it, they'd pick the version with it.

In no way am I saying people won't buy a game without trophies, but you have to accept there are people that won't buy a game without it when they can buy the game for another platform with it.

People disagree all you want, you're just a plague like the guys running nintendo that don't understand they could sell more than what they're currently selling for software.

I know I would've bought a switch and BotW if it had trophies, but since there was no reason for me to buy a switch I bought it for my wii u instead.

In response to your other comment if your buying an entire console due to trophies or achievements your doing it all wrong, I had, still do 185,190K gamerscore, sold my Xbox 1 tho it's bland maybe it's 9 years with 360 but achievements and trophies are a great lil Edition to get some extra out your games and show off your skills however I'd never buy a console because of trophies/achevements, I fully agree they'll go with consoles that have features... I.e a browser Netflix and such guff, all of which will get added when they get the Priority sorted out... The Games, it's a games console it needs games, achievements are great if they have any games to actually unlock them. Good ones at that, I'll take Nintendos output over a trophy achievement any day.
Just got my 35th platinum, but doesn't mean that's why I bought a PS4 I bought a PS4 as it had games.
Think that's actually why I enjoyed my 3ds/Wii u so much no achievements no trophies just good old fashioned gaming. Gets back to just playing games instead of playing to unlock achievements/trophies on a game you'd never even give the time of day to normally.

i love miiverse, I would like for it to come back but it take time away from nintendo doing other things, with people having to watch over it....when they could of focus on games

I'm curious I had my switch from day 1 and have taken it out of my house a few times. I have never had any issues with switching inputs. Also it should be noted the amount of people complaining about that issue is super slim. Why blame it on the switch when it's obviously not the issue?

its not the Switch.......it happens on newer lg and samsung Tv.....just like i told the others above.....samsung and lg suppose to send a update to help the situation......but people like him and very few others rather blame nintendo then use their other systems as an example saying why it do not happen to those systems when they do not have those features

this a article on samsung tv having this issue a while back it does not only happen with the switch.......

I just finished chatting with Samsung LiveChat here, and finally have an answer from them. The 2016 model Samsung TVs have a 'feature' where they will automatically change the input to the device that is turned on. This is NOT a CEC (Anynet) feature, it is separate. And the worst thing is that this feature cannot be turned off. Smiley Sad

This feature is new to the 2016 range so I was told.

You're trying too hard to defend Nintendo on this one, bro.

This is a known issue that a lot of people are having with their Switches, that they keep automatically changing inputs even when turned off on their TVs depending on the brand. And that doesn't happen to them with any other device, so it's on Nintendo's side.

I think it's reasonable to assume that it can be solved via an update from Nintendo for the Switch to add some further options on the settings or something.
