Great article, I would kill for a new Freelancer and native og Xbox Support

I think Microsoft need a very focused E3. Lots of good time management, with quick fire easy to digest information about Scorpio, Then we need a solid first party showing, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown and State of Decay 2 all look promising, but there is a lack of grandeur there that Sony's upcoming games have. I really thought Microsoft would pull Halo 6 out at this show, but apparently not.

I would say that they definitely need at least 2 new AAA first party exclusives to be announced, i'm not sure thats possible, but it would give them much needed momentum. Rumored stuff like a Ryse sequel could do well if what they show is super impressive. Or a Fable Reboot trailer could be a good one for the Xbox Brand, I wouldn't mind seeing a budget Battletoads downloadable game to. Microsoft is sitting on some great IP, Conker, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata all come to mind.

I'd like to see continued support for backwards compat, its not going to set the world on fire anymore, but its nice to see the continued support, especially when its one thing that the PS4 cannot do.

ID@Xbox will have a good showing I expect, as it should. Would be nice to see some exclusives more so than timed exclusives, but either will do as long as we get a good showing.

Xbox live functionality and features are always good, if Microsoft can show us some more interesting ways that Xbox live can evolve, even just with little additions like they did beacons etc, the service growing and adding nice features is always welcomed.

When it comes to third party, I think microsoft are going to be trying to get some cosy deals out of desperation more than anything, If there is a "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" trailer, I think microsoft will get the trailer debut on their show to try and continue the "brand synergy" with Xbox and Tomb Raider, although i'd put good money there will be no timed exclusivity this time. I think its been said a lot that Microsoft are securing some sort of deal with Middle Earth: Shadow of War, so i'd expect some gameplay of that being present. Hearing a lot about a third party deal, Microsoft are on pretty good terms with Capcom, another Dead Rising teaser? or maybe a reboot of an older Capcom property.

Everyone already knew this. Yes sony also announces them early but xfans always act like ms doesn't. But i would like to know, where is crackdown? where is cuphead?
Sony might announce games early but in meanwhile there are loads of other games releasing. Ms doesn't have that luxury. They only have their main ips of which everybody knows when they are coming because they have the same cycle over and over.

A lot of bullshit about VR in both MS and Sony and a few games that all we know.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
