Really? They're gonna make hundreds of millions in 2018 when sales come to a screeching halt after the few Nintendobots have their system in hand? Do they all plan to buy 2 or 3 of them or something?

wraith99993286d ago (Edited 3286d ago )

lmao you really think its just the nintendobots? are you forgetting the fact that there are, every year, millions of children asking for new consoles for their birthdays/christmas/any other holiday involving gifts?

and on top of that, due to its low price-point, portable design and all-ages-friendly first-party exclusives its pretty much the first choice for parents throughout the world and for many children as well

Berenwulf3286d ago

Low price point? Are you kidding me?! If you want a real controller and a decent SD-Card you have to pay about 450. You can get some great PS4 / XOne bundles and still have money in your pocket.

MagicBeanz3286d ago

And you realize that your entire statement is made up of unsubstantiated claims, opinions and hyperbole right?

jznrpg3286d ago

Its not just Nintendo fams buying this . Will it make hundreds of millions of dollars for Nvidia? No idea , its a cool system with a major lack of games like most launches, Switch can be a big success or just decent depending on if the games start coming in soon enough and enough of them. I want jrpgs and such so hopefully they deliver on that front

MagicBeanz3286d ago

Since the only reason to buy it is Zelda, its most defenitly Nintendo fans buying it.

Blazphemy3286d ago

I can see the Switch really taking off if they start to drop support for the 3ds and those developers come over to the Switch.
If not it will do way better than the Wii U but I don't see it doing crazy numbers.

GameBoyColor3286d ago

will make more than what amd will get back from the scorpio after the xbots all have their wannabe pc console teehee

ChickeyCantor3286d ago

A you must be the developer of Super Salty 64. Don't be angry that Superman 64 was a better game.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if Nvidia was able to close the deal w/Sony & Microsoft... also makes you wonder where AMD would be if they hadn't partnered up with those two.

HollowKnight3286d ago (Edited 3286d ago )

I'd totally buy an Nvidia tablet with Nintendo Switch type of controllers, which can play steam games on the go.
They could have made more money from selling their own version of the Switch.

franwex3286d ago

You mean an Nvidia Shield?

HollowKnight3286d ago (Edited 3286d ago )

Nope, the shield Is smaller and less powerful than the Switch, It's an Andriod based handheld device. I'm talking about a Windows 10 based handheld which can run Steam.

ChickeyCantor3286d ago

so you want a MS surface pro?

Nu3286d ago (Edited 3286d ago )

Nvidia should put a money printing machine on top of a Nintendo Switch to find out.
@Babadook7 I occasionally am an Xboner and no worries about retaliation I'm a peaceful person ✌

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio10d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing10d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9210d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit10d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing10d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9210d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
