Same thing with pro and scorpio. If by some act of god theres a 400 scorpio the pro (depending on the success of scorpio) could drop to 299 and vanilla ps4 199-250... See if that doesnt put a stint in scorpios plans

Most core gamers buy ps4 slim and xb1 slim... Its only the small fraction of gamers like myself that buys the pros and scorpios... Well see fall 2017 who comes out on top and all this could have would have bullshit can cease. The base ps4 is killing it and was doing so long before the pro came because only like less than half of households will even have a 4k tv by fall 2017.

all ms has done is slow down xbox 1 sales, who is going to go out and buy a x1 when they know scorpio is coming out at the end of the year?

ps4 lead is just going to increase even more

and when they release the scorpio price, 60% of those people waiting will then buy a ps4 pro instead

Scorpion comes at $399! it's great, it came at the right time.

Scorpion comes at $449! it's too late, power doesn't matter here, $100 more than Pro and 200$ more tha X1/PS4 aren't going to help on holydays.

Scorpion comes at at $499! it's too soon, the market does't need this thing, there are great option for much less money.

If you bought the OG X1, I could see why it's both worth it and not worth it. It's cringeworthy reading people ask for exclusives though? Does the pro have pro exclusives really? And the whole MS/PC no more exclusives statement is ridiculous in my opinion. I would think MS as a corporation is smarter than N4G community and did their homework and knows it won't cannibalize software and hardware sales. If people want to play an Xbox exclusive or multiplatforms at their best you will still get the best version of that title without a 4K tv.

Simple answer is no as far as I am concerned. The Scorpio to me is a journey, MS's progression from the X1 to the X1S and now to the Scorpio. They have taken what they have learned this gen and the Scorpio is the result, and I applaud them.

Anyone who expects Scorpio to be anything revolutionary is sadly mistaken, look at it as a 4K supporting Xbox One that's all. Unfortunately, they are rumoured to be using the same underpowered 8 core 'energy efficient' processor. The majority of the performance improvement is in the GPU which will simply allow for 4K resolution, those with 1080P displays will probably just enjoy the same graphics as PS4 users have ever since its launch.

It will be better than PS4 Pro for 4K but they should just call it Xbox One Pro so as not to mislead people, the market for 4K is still tiny.

Wow at this point there are more project Scorpio articles than Xbox games.

Here's hoping E3 brings as much exciting news of games as the actual specs reveal did for the hardware.

Sony clearly won this generation. Putting aside all that sales and exclusive console war stuff. I hope Scorpio (being the most powerful console ever and all) can just blow our minds.

I think we can agree. Games look great this gen. but nothing blew out minds like seeing Mario 64, metal gear solid 2, or gears of war for the first time.

Hopefully Scorpio with its power and dev tools can wow us like that for this gen.

Not at all, if you're someone like me who didn't hop into this gen at launch. Now i have the fantastic Pro, but will be looking to add Scorpio on launch day. For me i look forward to it with open arms because all of their games, backlog and upcoming games will be Brand new to me. So my plan clearly is to get early x1 games like Quantum Break, ReCore, Ori and the blind forest and others as well as new upcoming titles like Cuphead, Battlefront 2, Crackdown 3 and other newer games all to be played on Scorpio. The article read nicely. I agreed with much of it. Last gen lasted way too long. This console gen is here now because the chase was on to catch up to pc and the new mediums like 4ktv etc. Good stuff in that article..

I want instant on, instant play, instant action, no loading times, no screen tear, good framrate.. when all that is good then gradually they can improve the graphics but not to the point that it takes forever to release a game

I think Project S is a knee jerk reaction by MS. They were a little salty about people teasing them about the PS4 being a little more powerful than the X1, and about how bad Sony were slaying them. I think they kicked off the next gen early for a redo, but the MS faithful believe that it's just a stronger xbox1. I don't know what MS's endgame is, but the hardware wasn't really the problem that they should have put their focus on.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
