No its not

XanderZane3330d ago

Too soon? This is what the XB1 should have been at launch and without the Kinect. It's just what the XBox brand needs right now. Now if Microsoft can show us about 50+ games at the E3 with at least 30-35 of them being exclusive, we'll be in business.

JackBNimble3330d ago

Ya I want Scorpio and all the power to play xb1 games on

4Sh0w3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

No, it's not too soon, they are still supporting X1, ya know.

I think it will cost at least $499, which is well worth it imo, I mean the X1 was that price when it launched years ago and Scorpio is a significant upgrade even without Kinect, plus like the Elite controller I think it's targeted at the hardcore Xbox fans and remember the Elite controller was a hot item for months and currently has solid sells for a premiuum controller.

30 to 35 exclusives? You are asking way too much. MS doesn't have the studios to push that much content and there are not that many studios willing to make games exclusively for XB. Maybe a bunch of indies but definitely not AA and AAA games. PS4 has too big of a market share.

DAEMONIFEAR3330d ago

Are you for real? 50 games Sony don't even show that many and the scorpio is what the PS4Pro should have been at it's launch! Lol

Yetter3330d ago

What a ridiculous standard. I'd be surprised if PS has 35 games you can't play anywhere else and its been out for 3.5 years

XanderZane3330d ago

@Puertorock77
I'm not just thinking 1st party exclusives, but 2nd & 3rd party and Indie exclusives as well. Even if they can't pull off 30-35, at least 20-25 would still be enough. None of these exclusives should be Gears, Forza or Halo games. Microsoft doesn't need as many studios because they have a lot of something that's even more important. MONEY!!! They can pay studios for exclusives or to develop exclusives. They paid $1 billion for Minecraft remember. They could have used 1/2 of that and gotten 5 exclusive games for their XBox One.

hiawa233330d ago

Well, lets be real, the Scorpio is not what the X1 woulda or shoulda been. MS is clearly going for something different than when the designed the X1. I don't see the Scorpio being possible back in 2012-13.

rando 3330d ago

@ XanderZane: 50+ games at E3... 35 exclusive? thats what Sony fanboys expect? lol

Soc53330d ago

Yeah it's crazy that they haven't recovered yet from that horrific launch of the Xbox one. Don Mattrick makes me cringe.

Pretty much. Who's honestly thinking to themselves, " I don't know if I want Scorpio or not, it's just too powerful!"

Price VS. performance is the real issue, but that can't be determined yet. I have a feeling it's not going to be more than $450. A price point of £399 was also recently posted by an online retailer before being taken down which is promising "news".

RosweeSon3330d ago

Yeah not me just thinking I don't want a Scorpio. The end ;) 2018 maybe but me personally I got enough games and consoles to crack on until 2020 ;)

Obscure_Observer3331d ago (Edited 3331d ago )

Scorpio is not gonna win this generation for Microsoft. Sony already won. That said, i think the Scorpio can outsell the PS4Pro if MS deliver great games.

Thats a big "IF", also for sure there will be some great PS4 Pro bundles to compete with the launch of Scorpio.

@epic,
I like Xbox and PS and as much as I would like MS to get back in the race its too late. Sony has a huge lead not even if Scorpio was a sure hit and MD had great exclusives. That wont change anything.

That being said MS positioned themselves well. When PS5 comes out the Scorpio will become base unit and Scorpio 2 will come to combat PS5.

rando 3330d ago

there are no more console generations.

RosweeSon3330d ago

It won't even do that it needs games and they haven't got them, games don't come over night u less they Ports, sure should be some unannounced games to come but 2017? Doubtful the good Scorpio powered stuff won't start dropping until next year, I can wait this one out no problems ✌🏻

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing38d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9238d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit38d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing38d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9238d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
